The Don is back - "I was born for this"

Whooaaaa calm that down ..go look at Dukes HS highlights..then his college highlights. Then Franks..IMO Don is not quite on they level out of HS but he’s gonna be a beast
Duke still has the greatest rb highschool highlight tape I’ve seen from a Um rb in a long Time but it’s not far fetched to say don is more physically gifted than duke.

You're not the only one, that's the prevailing thought on the board, the majority of people on here think because he played in a Wing-T it's gonna take him forever to learn the Spread.

I'm actually in the minority along with Cribby that thinks Chaney will hit the ground running his TF year.

He's a physical freak with special ability & high upside, people are selling too high on High school offense transition & not paying enough attention to his elite athletic traits.

I've been saying since we started recruiting him he will be the best we've had since Duke. He will leave here as one of the Greats!

Don is the prize of the class on the offensive side of the ball. We’ve had some very talented running backs play here over the last fifteen years. Don is elite among the best of them. He’s going to be in the Heisman conversation going into his sophomore season. I’m very confident in saying he’s going to be a better college back than the one he was in high school. That’s insane, considering he was an all American and five star. He will be a Gurley sized beast, and possible bigger and stronger. He is everything we all hope for and he will exceed our expectations. He’s that guy.

WOW someone who see's the TRUTH!!! Preach brother Preach!!!

I don’t think he will have issues going to the spread. He cane from an academically rigorous high school in Belen and if he can handle that he should have the drive to pick up the playbook

If Chaney puts on like the legend NAS? It's a wrap....

Nice problem to have. I'm in the Knighton camp. I believe he will have more success than Chaney especially in Year 1 but happy to be proven wrong.

I also believe if Burns is healthy, then snaps will be limited for Knighton/Chaney. Not because of talent but because of seniority. Neither Knighton nor Chaney have done anything at this level to warrant more snaps. They will have 4 weeks of preseason practice. No spring. That's probably not enough to surpass Burns given the staff's penchant for playing the more experienced player (not saying I agree with this approach).

Those Jesuits are academic tyrants....

I’m still trying to figure out how the experts at Rivals dropped him from the top 50 to totally out of the top 250 after an all star practice. I don’t know why that bothers me so much but it does. Total disgrace.

Again, would be surprised if Chaney isn't around 220+ by the time he leaves here. I think he still has a next level to bloom into physically and it will show in the results many have fairly said they didn't see during his HS career.

He has a Marshawn Lynch comp in my book. Similar build, nasty running.

I agree. Just look at that pic alone. I know that pics can be deceiving but he is a big dude.

Plenty of cats are more physically talented Duke when they stepped in the door...including Don. But Dukes feel for the running game, imo, was the best I’ve seen here besides Frank imo

Plenty? Absolutely not.

His explosion / acceleration is up there with anyone. Top end was good but his burst was just crazy. Zero to sixty was absurd.

He was just at um at a god awful time, put him behind those early 2000’s ol and the long runs would’ve been insane. He’s also as talented as any rb ever at Miami catching the ball and running routes. Lastly his pass blocking and vision was top Shelf.

I know the last part isn’t considered physical talent but dude was super physically talented. He made high level athletes look like chumps .
