The Cold Weather Boogieman

Denzel Perryman at Pitt shirtless if I recall. We proved the doubters wrong!

Our history of not winning these types of games worries me much more than cold weather.

We’ve only gone once to Charlotte because we kept losing that one game we needed to win the coastal.

Now here we are one win away from beating a team with less nfl talent and with recruiting classes way below ours.

No way a coach who has the ability to win a national championship can’t come up with a game plan to win tomorrow.
It’s inexcusable imo.
This isn’t the Fedora in 2015 going up against Dabo and Watson. We aren’t facing jimbo and Winston.
We can’t lose to Pitt with a squad like this with so much at stake.

It should warm up into the mid thirties by kickoff. Our receivers and RB's have to get used to handling a "stiff" ball. But they'll be gloved.

Ball security is going to be everything tomorrow. Otherwise, we out-talent Pitt in a big way.

Not for nothing but we out talented Louisville SMU too

Y'all really need new material...

The Saturday conditions don’t appear to be terrible.

That said, the cold affects two positions primarily, QB and receivers. Other than Marion, none of our receivers grew up in, or have played in much, if any, cold weather, nor our QB.

It should have no effect on defense.
Fortunately it’s not supposed to snow, so I don’t think it is going to affect the game much.
Unfortunately for us our run game sucks balls at 76th in the country and Pitt’s rushing defense is 10th in the nation. **** us, right?

Pitt has 53 players on their roster from the south or warm weather states. 23 are from Florida. It's not like their entire roster grew up in Greenland.
I think this is an underrated take. Pitt’s offense isn’t exactly built for these weather conditions.

Ask the Dolphins—all those early seasons playing in the heat of South Florida and winning then winter comes and they play up north in the cold and start losing.
No that was bull*****t too. The Bills and Patriots would come down to Joe Robbie late in the season for must win games and the Phins would lose those too.

Think it was '03 when we played up there at night. Temp was like 26 or 28 degrees. Freakin wind was blowing in from the open end facing one of the rivers. So dang cold!

They had Larry Fitzgerald and we shut him/them down til a garbage time TD pass he caught. Almost made him break his scoring streak.
Absolutely. Was there, wind was tough.
Great victory by the Canes that night.
Shut Larry Fitzgerald’s *** down.

Getting hit in the cold tho.... oof you feel it way more than in the heat for some reason
once that game starts, the adrenaline is so high, your body is still sweating. now, if there are blistering winds, now Id be worried. Cold with aggressive winds is miserable

Weather looks great today. Mix of sun and clouds early, mostly cloudy through the game. Mid to high 30s. Very little wind. No rain/sleet/snow. Can’t ask for more in late November in Pittsburgh. Absolutely zero excuses.

It’s not 8 degrees. It’s not snowing. It’s not windy AT ALL (biggest factor IMO). Field should be in great condition, neither the college nor pro team played there last weekend. Perfect weather to play football and be tuff and fizical. Go knock ****s in the dirt.
