The Cold Weather Boogieman

Ask the Dolphins—all those early seasons playing in the heat of South Florida and winning then winter comes and they play up north in the cold and start losing.

Our winning percentage in games where the temp is in the low 40s or below, is high 30s or low 40%. But I think that’s more bc the games never matter. ****** bowl games or end of year where we can’t make the ACC title game or whatever.

Weather is massively overrated for teams as a whole. However it is absolutely a thing for QB’s.

Your first line is key. Just show up ready to play. We didn’t show up to play against UL. You could tell that off rip.
Honestly, that is the hard truth. With SMU we played kind of flat, had at least 1 really bad call in the 4th that changed our outcome. But....we also loafed the game.

The Cardinals came out with a solid game plan out the gate. Put us on our heals out the jump.

THIS game. All hands on deck. We still have a shot. DO NOT come out flat. Who cares about the weather.

Play ball, play to effin win.

Agree, I don't think cold weather affects players, unless its negative temps. In that situation, players from both teams are affected. If we lose in cold weather conditions, it's because the better team won or we were poorly coached.

The cold weather excuse is kind of like the stadium intimidation excuse. Players aren't intimidated by another stadium and their fans. These players have grown up playing in large stadiums with hostile crowds.

Not to be conspiracy guy, but is there a reason our beloved conference always schedules us to come up here this weekend? Is there a rule stating that we cannot play them in Pittsburgh in like early October?
Lets just open up the year #Pitt and get it over with. Lets end the season at Louisville or @SMU

The Saturday conditions don’t appear to be terrible.

That said, the cold affects two positions primarily, QB and receivers. Other than Marion, none of our receivers grew up in, or have played in much, if any, cold weather, nor our QB.

It should have no effect on defense.
Fortunately it’s not supposed to snow, so I don’t think it is going to affect the game much.

Freezing temp isn’t terrible? Yeah that’s going to suck. No way around it.

Players can’t feel their hands. Every hit stings that much more. We will seee how tough this team is cause playing in the cold sucks.

What conspiracy? Like scheduling back to back bye weeks and having us play 7 in a row knowing we have one of the best rosters in the ACC and are a potential playoff team? Meanwhile the SEC spreads their bye weeks out, allows them to schedule a FCs game week 14 for essentially a 3rd bye. Get us out of this chicken **** conference.

Forecast says 34-36* game time. No precipitation. Light winds.

My point is there is a huge difference between those conditions and 25* with snow and 20 mph winds.

Snow and an icy field affect players not used to it, more than 35* and fair conditions.

Good thing our QB grew up in north Florida, Marion played in Utah, and Baby Jesus is the cold

Yes. Even my **** playing early high school bball. I was a starter. With big rivalry games and the crowd, Gym, atmosphere..

Adrenaline is a he?! Of a thing. The motion of your training kicks in. The ball you release is a floater in your mind. But, it's a bucket from outside and your a 4 position.

Point is .. It's in the game, the moment. The atmosphere is like a camera out of focus behind you. You just trust your teammates and play.

This conference intentionally sabotages Miami

They are so f ing dumb
They deserve Zero teams if Miami doesn’t get in
