The Butch Davis is too old crowd

Butch was flat out stacking serious talent at UNC - and in his last season sent nine to the NFL.

I wonder if he'd take the Kansas job if nobody else comes calling this offseason? I mean it's not too long ago that Mangino had them relevant and Butch is kinda familiar with the area with Arkansas and Oklahoma being neighboring states.

I doubt he'd take that job. It would negate his main strength--recruiting/evaluation. He's not a gimmick coach that could win 8 games there with some funky spread. You're not going to recruit great players to Kansas. Ever.

I think you're right. I just wonder if he's been offered anything since UNC that wasn't some pencil pushing NFL job in Tampa or a clusterf*ck offer/non-offer by the braintrust at FIU.
 
his coaching tree is unreal real. he has been very consistent at evaluating coaches. when they dont pan out, he fired them. he would be able to groom an heir apparent. Coker was a pretty good coach, drop the ball on recruiting. Having Randy Shannon who is an introvert as his DC didn't help.
 
Butch is also one of the few coaches out there that would legitimately make our opponents go 'uh oh'. They know what Butch is capable of and dey scared.

That's the one coach Fsu scared of, anyone else there like *** it. That man demands fear they know what it is.

Would take Pinkel any day 100 times over.
 
Pinkel will retire at Mizzou. He is one **** of a talent evaluator. He has done pretty **** well with less talent. Mizzou has produced some really good NFL talent the last decade. The d-lineman to note is what really stands out.

Because if he's hired shortly after the FSU game, it will only take three. If we wait, lose recruits before Butch is named at the last minute - it may take four. There's no way it takes 5 or 6 years. No way.
 
Look at it like this. It would be a wiser and more knowledgeable Butch Davis. He would evolve from Gandalf The Grey to Gandalf The White.
