The hope for this season was we would end up somewhere in the top 10 and without the NCAA looming this program would have some positive momentum going for the first time in a while. Last nights game killed that. Looking forward to next season sadly I really don't see us being any better next year. Talent wise were probably around the same level next year.

Projecting if unit will be better or worse next year:

QB- Slightly worse - Breaking in a new QB, whether it be Williams or Olsen.

RB- Better- More depth with Yearby & Powell.

WR's- Slightly better - lose dependable Hurns but should see improvements from Coley & Malcolm + more depth from Scott & Dorsett

TE - Same - No real great talent coming in, hopefully see some improvement from Sandland

OL- Worse- Senior laden group + losing Linder hurts. (breaking in new QB & new OL is a bad mix)

DL- Same- hopefully improvements from McCord & Quan and other youngins but we will lose lots size with in the middle with departures of Portis and Renfrow. Expected a big year from OP this year, he's been very quiet.

LB - Same- *but could be worse if we lose DP to draft.

Secondary- Better - we bring back all our corners and more playing time for Bush & Jenkins.

How can we say the defense will be better if we still have the same scheme and play calls?

thats bull**** that wasnt the hope for this year, pull up and thread, it was somewhere b/w 8-4 and 10-2 and thats not counting on being without Duke and Dorsett

The DLine could be worse as the DT's have been doing their job pretty well for the most part and we lose all three.

Expect the big Juco transfer Kamalu to take over Green's spot with AQM and McCord keeping their roles as only third down guys. Unless they balloon to 270+ and lose their athleticism like Chick that's their only role.

Most People said 9-3,10-2 because they thought UNC and UF would be good obviously both were terrible this season thus us winning 2 games that were toss ups before the season. I had us at 10-2 losses to UNC and FSU... The schedule was beyond easy this season and the coastal is weak. UNC was down we already smoked GT and VT got beat by BC and Duke already. Thomas came into our game with 8 turnovers in the last 2 games. The coastal was set up for us to win this year. The ACC clowns finally split FSU and VT up for us allowing us to play VT at home again..

Lol at the qb play getting slightly worse. Olsen is gonna be a good one. And he has had a year and a half to learn.

The freshman QB, unless he's Jameis Winston part II, will have at least 1 or 2 "freshman moment" games that kill us.

Almost every good QB to start for a major program as a redshirt or true freshman had games like this.

Still, I think we'll see improvement from the position IF James Coley is a competent enough QB coach.....which remains to be seen.

Morris has been asked to do nothing more than be a game manager so I think we will take a step back but not a drastic one. Our running game should be better. On paper we should be better defensively but as long as we continue with this same philosophy it doesn't matter.

DP is the best we have a LB..and that is not saying much.....guy kills people every 3rd game and makes great tackles 15 yards down the field...

NOT ONE D player leaving is going to hurt us NONE..

LB's hopefully perryman stays, figeroa, grace can emerge.

All athletic and can run sideline to sideline.

Hopefully players like blue and kirby can be ready to play and give a little depth.

If we allow our scheme to utilize the talent we currently have we'll improve defensively without a doubt.

If we stay in the same read and react scheme and expect players to quit being aggressive, we'll see similar results.

You're an idiot. Perryman had 15+ tackles and 2 sacks yesterday. VT scores 70 yesterday without him on the field.

QB - Better -Williams is better than Morris.
RB - Better - more depth coming in and Duke as Junior will be a beast.
WR - Better - more depth coming in and only losing Hurns
TE - Better - lose no one and have Derrick Griffin and Ryheem Lockley coming in.
OL - Same or worse - losing Linder and Henderson hurts, but we have good freshmen O-line coming in for depth

Coley hopefully will learn a lot from his first year here and will make the proper adjustments to improve the offensive scheme to more suit our players.

DL - Better - Porter, Renfrow Robinson and Green are gone, but none are difference makers. Time to let loose McCord and Muhammad. Have elite freshmen coming in.
LB - Better - Gaines and Cornelius gone, Perryman senior season. Armbrister and Figs will improve, Kirby should take over MLB well. Grace will push for playing time. Owens and Young coming in for depth.
DBs - Better - losing Rodgers and Highsmith, good. Will have juniors/seniors starting - Howard, Jenkins, Bush and Crawford. Gunter - senior. Burns and Carter will be better.

Need to either change the defensive scheme or fire the coordinator. But an infusion of talent from 2014 class should help the defense improve.
