The Bully on the block is back; we're making a run tgid year

I think we'll have a strong team to contend for the ACC. We should at the very least win our division. Lack of depth in the secondary is very troubling and we don't have an elite O-line. It's great to show optimism about our O-line. But asking posters to come up with reasons why we won't contend when you come up with "Our Oline will surprise" is not a valid argument and is contradicting. But here's hoping.

You're talking like these dudes are scrubs.

They were all highly recruited save Sonny and Sonny might have been the best performer of them all last year.

All opinions on personnel as it relates to the last 5 years is heavily colored by poor coaching.

We actually have a real coach now.

We are not playing Clemson this year. If we beat FSU at home, there is a good chance we go undefeated. The only other team who we may have problems with is ND. With Richt at the helm, it's not a stretch to say we can beat every team in the ACC we play this year. If we stay healthy that is.

I swear, our fans have been so scarred and injured by Golden they forget we Miami, not GT or UNC. We Miami, God damnit. All pros and HOF's, 5 titles in the last 33 years and played for the whole **** 9 times in that span. Golden is gone and we are being coached by a PROVEN commodity, that just happens to be a Miami guy and knows what it means to coach in south Florida.

This roster is one of the most talented in CFB, we finally have top notch coaching and our we have guys that can flat out go at positions that matter.

The FSU game will be a war, as always but we got them at home (had them on the ropes the last two years with shatty coaching). Win that game and all dreams are possible; I fully expect a dominant canes squad this season
 
This team is so ready, Al Golden would have called off the rest of fall practice if he was still here.

Oline are 3rd and 4th year letterman with big game experience. The differences we now are competent coaching and MUCH better conditioning (leaner/quicker/tougher). Also, richt is a smash mouth football kinda guy so the oline will be foundational to how we want to play. Set the bar high and more often than not folks will reach it if you train them correctly.

You **** right I believe this oline will surprise.
 
If the new lights in the stadium work correctly and the new grass will grow in the shade there is no reason that we shouldn't get to the ACCCG against Clemson.If Adidas makes the jerseys look cooler than we will destroy Clemson and get into the playoffs no doubt.
 
Not going to lie I said something like this in 2014 and 2015(more so 2014 considering the talent on the team) with golden being here which was utterly stupid with all things being considered especially the bad coaches we had, Post like these are at least reasonable considering richts track record with having 10 double digit win seasons in 15 years in the toughest conference in the country as well as the talent on the team. NFL.com recently tabbed Miami as the 15 most talented team in the country yesterday as well so it's not out of the question that our team can't win big this year. I mean we literally were a competent coaching staff(fsu and wsu loss, cincinatti*) away from winning 11 games last year. And we bring back 16 starters with a talented freshman class that appears we have struck gold with our most vital need positions at receiver and linebacker
 
I love the canes and are confident in them also our schedule has a lot of very winnable games. but had to stop reading after saying more than 10Wins. We are starting 2 frosh LBs and literally there is nothing behind them.

An offense line that returns everyone and WILL surprise
A DOMINANT dline; this is a game changing Dline that will make the secondary look great
A linebacking Corp, that's while thin, has talent
A talented senior lead safety group
2 senior DBs (Colbert and Elder) and a youngin that's played and has potential (red wine)

But here is the key to unlocking this defense: if we can land Maurice Smith is going to be "on". With Smith, the secondary would feature FIVE experienced seniors that can play (Carter, Jenkins, Elder, Colbert, Smith)

Smith can unlock the entire defense. If he comes the sky will be the limit, because it'll mean this team will have no holes

I smoke the pipe every year because I want to.. the good news is this year it's not slap full of rag weed and seeds.
A dog fight with Clemson in the ACCCG and a bowl win would be a great year and the set up for big things coming imo.

Mark, Kool, plus Kaaya gives us a shot in every game. String them together and it could be done. I do think if we win ACC and only have one loss, we get in playoffs -- TV ratings will demand THE U. Love or hate, everyone will watch Miami vs fill in the blank. Bama -- two title games with a split. OSU -- nuf said. OU -- good old days Barry vs JJ. Miami vs ND in rematch -- game made in Heaven. We are made for and of TV.
