Some of you say 8 wins, and some say 10. I've been quiet on this because both of you are wrong. I think we're making a run for it all THIS season. This team is built to win right now. We've added some great pieces, players have matured and we have great coaching.

Why? Well, I believe in Richt, and just look at the **** roster- it's one of the most talented in CFB (pros up and down the roster...a bunch of underrated guys the world will soon come to know)

Top 2 QB in CFB
Dynamic and versatile TE duo (both might be first rd picks---Herdon is a 3rd rounder, at worst)
Three headed monster at RB, and Gus returns
A monster FB
WR's that can flat out go and a dynamic guy in coley
An offense line that returns everyone and WILL surprise
A DOMINANT dline; this is a game changing Dline that will make the secondary look great
A linebacking Corp, that's while thin, has talent
A talented senior lead safety group
2 senior DBs (Colbert and Elder) and a youngin that's played and has potential (red wine)

But here is the key to unlocking this defense: if we can land Maurice Smith is going to be "on". With Smith, the secondary would feature FIVE experienced seniors that can play (Carter, Jenkins, Elder, Colbert, Smith)

Smith can unlock the entire defense. If he comes the sky will be the limit, because it'll mean this team will have no holes

Has AQM a been kicked off the team yet? Or are we still waiting for that feeling of yours to manifest?

1. AQM practiced so that's a good sign
2. I'm on record and I'm telling you and everyone else why I think we're going to make a run this year. How about you go on record and tell us why you think we won't. Instead of the Lulz, go on record, tell us why the Canes won't, and stand by it. Gauntlet thrown!

Just for fun, we can bump this thread weekly to see who's right come December.
 
I think a 10-2 season, and a coastal division win is a reasonably easy goal for this season.

Next year We can start talking ACC championship win and Playoff runs

I think this team will make the jump this season. The core of this team has been together 3 years and they have big game experience.

Also, I believe in this staff's ability to coach up these guys. Think about it: we won 8 last year with shattered coaching, and that should've been 10 wins! You really think we should've lost to Cincinnati and Washington State?!? This team could've won 10 LAST year just off talent and very little coaching

I like the makeup of this team, and I think we have a game changing QB that's also a selfless leader. it's the best I felt about a canes squad since 2002-2003.

I think we make a run this year for one of those four playoff spots

after game 8, we'll have an "idea" if we're in the conversation for the coastal. i think it's fair to say EVERYONE here would love to make a run for it all this season. we haven't won 10 games in 13 years. we've never won the coastal, let alone the acc. we have the qb. we have the rb's. we have a solid first team wr group. we have a talented dl. every other position group is thin, unproven at the bottom and needs several people to step up to play at a high level. the fan base is excited and ready to be a top twenty team again.
10/8 fsu at home at night.
10/15 unc at home.
10/20 (a short week) vt on the road, 7:30 pm.
10/29 at notre dame.

We are not playing Clemson this year. If we beat FSU at home, there is a good chance we go undefeated. The only other team who we may have problems with is ND. With Richt at the helm, it's not a stretch to say we can beat every team in the ACC we play this year. If we stay healthy that is.
