The bottom line

Well, our little exchange is over your defense of Mario for the team coming out flat. I'd say not having the team come out flat would the obvious answer.

I'm not sure what you want to hear. The team wasn't prepared, wasn't locked in, flat, no juice, uninspired. It didn't look like they were mentally prepared. Some kind of thing the coaches are supposed to do...

We’re not exchanging anything. I’m simply telling you you’re dumb.

Mario is a putrid gameday coach. He might be even worse than Shannon and Manny on gameday. He constantly doesn’t have us ready for inferior opponents, especially at home (MTSU, GT, UVA today, etc). We all know how disgraceful his clock management and crucial decision making is.

The only way Mario will win anything here is with overwhelming talent. We just have to pray his recruiting is elite. The 2023 class is already winning us games with guys like Bain, maugioa, Fletcher, even Ray Ray some today. My main concern right now is I just don’t see the same difference makers in the 24 class, at least on paper. It's 20th in avg star ranking. That's not nearly good enough.
Agreed. But he played at Miami.

Mario did the most rational thing late in the last two games, he looked at his QB and realized that he didn't have a guy he was comfortable putting the game on. Maybe if TVD was dealing like he was earlier in the season, Mario would have taken a shot, but there's no way in **** a rational person would let this version of TVD take shots, buried deep in your own end. The week before, he had a freshman QB, with limited first team reps. We know the D is good, and we know that the OL can bully in the redzone. Put the game in their hands and let them deliver. Guess what happened? Sometimes, you have to win ugly and this team is built to win ugly. If the QB position wasn't a greasefire(Which honestly, none of us thought would be THIS bad) maybe Dawson would feel more comfortable, but when your QB can't be trusted under any circumstances, you have to call plays this way.

The vast majority of college coaches that have won championships in the last 20 years did it with overwhelming talent, and not because they were great gameday coaches. Just thought I’d mention that.

In all seriousness, what do you think he’s doing and what do you think he should be doing?
I don't know what he's doing wrong. I only have the what my eyes are telling me: talent is vastly on our side and we consistently don't do well when we play teams we are favored to win in the double digits.

In some cases we see simplified game plans as if to hide our film. I'm most cases we see confounding struggles and even losses.

This game had terrible execution. Maybe it's all on TVD but it didn't seem there was a well planned offense. No sense of identity or overarching philosophy seemed evident.

It really falls on the head coach to have the team prepared be it by game plan or mentally. For whatever reason his current methods do not seem to be hitting the mark.
