The board of trustees with the middle finger to us all.

So do FSU students. Even when they were ranked in the 100s. So do FAU students when they were ranked in the hundreds. Actually, every college graduate has a fighting chance in the workforce.

I agree with that whole-heartedly. But our students won't know much since we "don't have good academics".

Yes, and falling into being one of the top 60-ish universities in the country doesn't mean we "don't have good academics". There are 22 million people in the 20-24 demographic, and 21.5 million of them will not have a UM-caliber education.
It’s the 1.5 million who do that counts. What was the price of that 60s ranked UM education compared to the other 59ish schools?

Or more importantly, what did the schools just below UM cost?

That's a different conversation entirely when we're talking about the overall value. But the kid who has scholarships and financial aid is getting a top-notch education for nothing.

Another porst. Nobody is angry, you felt the need to whine and defend a plummeting academic ranking.

I guess it is an achievement to be tied with FSU in academics.

Of course you're angry, that's the entire point of the rant you were on. We don't even have good academics. Burn the place down.
