is the OL.

If Miami had a top 20 type OL, we would be beating teams a lot worse, and would be a legit top 6-7 type team.

Justice has improved the OL for sure, but we are still a major work in progress. I think the OL will be better next year, and moving forward with young talent along with the recruits Justice is bringing in.

I see and hear Cane fans complaining about Cam Harris, WR's, Blake Baker, Bradley Jennings, CB's, Safeties, Manny Diaz blah blah.

The OL is the biggest weakness by far on this team.

The defense responding 2 games in a row giving up 10 points and 10 points in the 2nd half.

VT rushed for 74 yards on 23 rushes in the 2nd half. That is elite against an elite rushing offense.

The defense had 6 TFL, 1 stuff, 4 sacks, and forced an INT in the 2nd half. Hooker was 11-20/94 yards passing/1 INT in the 2nd half. Again that is pretty elite stuff.

The OL is going to be improved next year, and it needs to make a jump.

My starting five would be:

LT-Nelson/Walker
LG-Campbell/Clark
C-Gaynor/Reed
RG-Donaldson/Seymore
RT-Scaife/Rivers

I know everyone is down on Scaife at G, and he is playing poorly there. He is a RT. He has started double digit games at RT, and played well. In fact you could make an argument he was our best OL last year when he was at RT. He isn't playing RT now as Jarrid Williams is an actual NFL prospect at RT. I think he moves back over next season, and will play much better.

The OL is really hurting this offense, hopefully it can get fix soon..

The team holds themselves back careless play a play is called and that’s it no field presence no focus to adjust to unfolding opponents plays.

They have very low field recognition at all WHY , WHY YOU SAY it’s super easy to diagnose it’s not rocket science ready are you really ready ok here it is.

This team has very few players that are FOCUSED.

The top tier teams are all super FOCUSED.

Even ND with QB issues YOU’D never notice they just put up 45 points a game over ALL there opponents.

We are not able to do this , so how do you think we’d fair playing the big boys LMAO LETS HEAR IT?????

"ND with QB issues" ?? I hate the Irish but Book is pretty darn good.

ND beat GT three weeks ago 12-7
Georgia, Michigan and a ton of other P5 teams would kill for Book
ND has a Top 3 O-line in all of college football.

We seem to have problems handling stunting and blitzing. Our OL are not all on the same page as to who is supposed to do what. I see a lot of mental errors by this group, especially by a few members of the group.

The OL is bad. It is rare we get a clean blocking set. There is always a breakdown or two on every play. Rivers and Walker should be getting more live action because they will have to be ready day one next year. In the run game this unit couldn't push a broken down Prius out of the road. The coordination of pull plays is terrible.

The OP sited OL as the a primary problem with this team.
ND is the last example I would give to refute his point.

He also said we'd be top 6-7 team with a legit o-line, which is a level below the "big boys".
If we had ND's O-line, top 6-7 is where we would be .

I don’t think people talk about the o-line much anymore because we are exhausted talking about it over the last several years. We know they suck.

I agree with your lineup potential next year. Campbell is a good guard and Scaife is better at RT.

to finish this year this is what I would like them to run out with starting next week.

LT: Zion, backup Campbell

LG: Campbell, Backup Rivers

C: Gaynor, Backup Reed

RG: Clark, Backup Scaife/Donaldson

RT: Williams, Scaife

Scaife should not be starting at RG for the remainder of the year. He has been our worst performing lineman week in and week out .

Agree with your proposed lineup, although I wouldn’t sleep on Rivers at RT.

Also, I agree Laurence Seymore is good enough to jump right in the mix in the interior.

I would really like to see Rivers start getting some snaps at Guard or as you say Tackle from here on out. We aren’t going to the ACC Championship and we arent sure how many more games we will get this year. Got to start getting these guys some live game reps.

haven’t seem much issues before yesterday with stunts from what I can remember. Yesterday was just an absolute cluster *****

Rivers might be out another week. Campbell should come back next week and start over Scaife at Guard. I'd be stunned if he plays worse than Scaife has been playing.

Not to bag on the kid, but scaife was just the tallest midget on last year disaster of a oline.. I cant think of whatever game where he was some dominant force, smashing guys, opening holes. Jarrid has come and shown what we should expect as far as consistency, he isnt a road grader but 90% of time he handles his biz in regards to pass pro.. I never got that from scaife, he was just adequate on a terrible oline, we might have to hit the portal again and try to find another Jarrid.. Scaife gets the most benefit of doubt than any other player, dude couldnt even get a hand on a player some plays and looked to give zero ***** about it..
