The biggest concern for this FSU game is Beck..

On the pick vs UF, he had a checkdown or could have taken 5 yards by ground. Easy to correct in film study and discussion with OC.

My concern: tempo.

I've seen Bain, Mesidor, Blay, Moten get gased vs ND.

We need to make sure we get 3&0s and the O controls the ball. If we can't do that a bunch, we need Blount, Scott, Simpson, Lightfoot, Bryant on the field more, which is NOT as good as the top 4 as of now. Blount and Lightfoot will play a number of snaps as is but Scott/Simpson/Bryant will be dependent on snaps.

We win by playing keep away and forcing Tommy boy into passing attempts. It has very little to do with Beck outside of making sure he isn't the one having to Force the ball into action.

Pate said it: Tommy throws for 240+ yards he is 1-5. Let the dude pass while we play keep away

Good points. Significant drop off on the second unit DL

Keep FSU in 3rd and long. If we don’t then it’ll be a death by a thousand cuts because that offensive scheme can pick up 3 to 4 yards routinely.

Valid.

I think we are clearly the better team in the trenches but to your point FSU is gonna try and stress us a lot up front. Emotional game. Fizzical. The starting DL is a terror right now but they gotta hold up. Offense just needs to do its thing, not shoot ourselves in the foot with OL penalties and turnovers and grind em down.

I'm not understanding the fear y'all have. FSU literally has no answer for our OL or DL.

I haven't been this sure we were gonna beat them since 2020.
I agree. I feel like FSU’s DLine is going to be slightly better than USF but way less than UF. He had forever to be able to throw then and now he has added some run as a wrinkle. All we need is 4+ yards a play. Make them move up to try to take that away and you create the single man coverage with high safety trying to cover the field. My guess is that they are going to try using the blitz to create pressure, so the back stays home and chips out for large chunk plays. This is going to play right into our game. Let Dawson draw them in with play calling and then create big chunk plays when the FSU defense doubles down.

Meh, I think he’s fine. The route tree and general lack of use of the whole field has been far more apparent this year which leads to tougher windows especially in the rain. I think he will bounce back

Bain and Mesiore played more snaps vs UF and USF than they did against Notre Dame.

I’m really looking forward to watching Miami’s front 7 against FSU and how Heatherman will mix things up and spy lil dude.

I’m hoping Popo and Pruitt get extra burn

I fully expect our DB’s to take control and limit their passing game

My biggest concern is that Dawson sometimes seems to get bored with taking a profit. Run the ball until they prove they can stop it. I don’t think they can.

Everyone in the media keeps bringing up that Bama ran for only 87 yards against them, well here are Bama’s rushing numbers against P4 teams this year:

FSU 29 carries 87 yards 3.0ypc
Wisconsin 22 carries 72 yards 3.3ypc
UGA 38 carries 117 yards 3.1ypc

Total: 89 carries 276 yards 3.1ypc

Bama can’t run the football, FSU had nothing to do with that. The UVA game is more indicative of what that defense is. If we don’t hit the lulls of going 3 and out with 3 straight passes because we get bored with taking 4-5 yards a play on the ground I don’t think this game is particularly close.

Sure but being gassed isn’t about volume over 3hrs. It is about volume during multiple back to back to back drives with limited risk. Turnovers, quick scores…

We have played pretty clean games and not had a bunch of 3&0 minus the 3rd vs ND. That snowballed for a bit until we got our footing on O and D.

I want 200plus. Make them ******* earn the win with a front 6 that isn’t as physical as our guys. I want Ryan or SJ at TE/fb more than 87. Push them back 4-6 yards a play, break one tackle and let the pile move 10 more yards. That gets tired real fast when you play 3 DL

Popo plays. Pruitt doesn’t IMO. Thomas is more experienced and better right now.

I don’t expect spying. I expect 4-5 in the back end playing man and cover 2/1 and the 6-7 under playing eyes forward.

Carson has a big game. He picks up the pre snap read pretty good even though DC White is also pretty good at hiding the blitzer. Beck just needs to be careful of someone sliding into the blitzer's zone he vacated. It may be a bunch of check downs if they play 2 high S, but that shouldn't stop Miami either because he takes the checkdowns.
