Jeff Luc ?this thread is going to give me PTSD so I am going to stay away from it though I do enjoy reading about the guys that screwed us only to flop at FSU wherever.
For me, Lamar Jackson wins that title.Bonito was the miss of misses
Our culture was sinking to an all-time low. We recruited off of rankings lists. We brought in guys with terrible work ethic/attitudes, and then we added a bad team culture. We didn’t get serious players. We got guys who wanted to be in Miami, or south beach, or some such nonsense. But they weren’t grinders, and it showed on and off the field. The disappointment of the 2004 class. We all know that Willie Williams had the talent to have been an all-timer, but man was he a miss. The entire RB group of that class was a monumental disaster. We signed 3 top 100 backs and 4 of the top 25 prospects and none of them did a **** thing here. Bobby Washington, Charlie Jones, Thomas from Louisiana and the sprinter from Pittsburgh all busted. I remember how hyped I was over that class on signing day. I crowed our RB room the stud stable fully believing that they were going to be difference makers. Man was I wrong. I still have the highlight DVD from that class around my house somewhere. I thought Lance Leggett was going to be Randy Moss 2.0 or at worst Lamar Thomas. Man was I wrong. LOL.
stealing coley on signing day felt like the biggest win in forever at the time…
especially with the Cribby confidence around the same time.... place almost crashed....the Jeremiah rumors that he hadn’t signed around 7 then Dennis drops a bat signal was an all timer CIS moment
You beat me to mentioning this one - that's an old head recruiting story lolantoine smith and the house slippers...
Never heard that. Crazy if true.Didn't this cost Donnell Bennett his job at the high school?
We also had Lashawn Mcckoy for 10 minutes .The JR Mounts thing was bizarre too. IIRC he committed out of nowhere, we convinced ourselves he was the second coming at RB, he enrolled early, then quit two days into spring practice in '02
I remember getting that text and thinking it was a joke (which it kinda ultimately was).We also had Lashawn Mcckoy for 10 minutes .
