"The Bear" speaks up today

I don’t think it was a Segway at all. Seemed to me it was a planned segment that Reece started by asking a specific question about the state of both us and the semenholes. As usual, Kirk being an obvious fan of the U spoke his mind and Chris chimed in because of his obvious connection to Miami.
And the night before on College football Live, Desmond Howard went off on the players. It was a two pronged attack

His point about the athletic department is spot on.

What sports are we good at? Baseball team has done nothing. Basketball has been a trainwreck. Football is a dumpster fire. Our marquee sports are complete non-factors; that's an indictment on the administration's decision to stick by James no matter what, and its costing the school millions.
Yeah, but we have a women's soccer team. So...you know...it all evens out.

I cant believe ESPN is even still answering our phone calls the way we have been playing lately if that is actually what happened to make Bear backtrack... Our last game was on HGTV! Smh.

Sounds like Blake and members of the BOT made some calls to Bristol. Pu$$ies...
Go research who Manny's dad and you will see who has the power to make them change their tune. Notice the shifting of blame and all the white knighting for Manny. Now Blake absolutely deserves the heat but they are going out of their way to absolve Manny of any blame.

Title should be "The Bear" gets scared and backtracks today. Dude got scolded and went into his shell.

Either you missed his last tweet in the chain or we are interpreting things very differently. First off, he said he was frustrated with the program and wants Miami to be good (i.e., we are not good). Then, his last tweet called out baseball and basketball. That's not backtracking, it's doubling down on his original point with evidence that the problem is greater than just Manny Diaz (it's administrative). And as an alumni he is still ultimately "hopeful," but he is expressly hoping that things get "turned around" (which is not the same as hoping anyone is retained).

We'll have to agree that we most certainly interpreted that differently then because all I saw was him doing all he could to soften the blow

This right here is what’s wrong with a lot of things in our country. People are soft and instead of wanting to be great and fighting and working to be great, the first time they are called out they whine, complain, and do everything they can expect working hard to fix the issue. If they’d channel this newly found energy into actually winning they wouldn’t find themselves in this situation. Great job College Gameday. Double down this weekend after UVA clowns them at Hard Rock.
