Yeah…I took some liberties with the article for entertainment purposes.

But, I would not be upset if he changes his mind provided the staff has a plan. Losing Fletcher late and the possibility of Lyle going portal would be problematic since most Portal RBs are committed elsewhere.

What's your thoughts on circling back to a guy like Air Noland and letting him compete with who we got? I know we liked him in HS and this is obviously a worst case scenario situation.

We have been thru this before. Like Rodgers said relax. Lets wait until the portal is closed and see where Miami is at. Would be great to get another experienced star QB. For me its not the end of the world if we do not get a QB. Mario recruited the guys on the roster for a reason. Chambliss was not the starter at Miss the #1 guy got hurt.

Chambliss also had been in school four years prior, won two D II National Championships, and was D II player of the year. No one in our room is as accomplished.
 
It seems like we spent most of our budget on retention and HS recruits. I'm not opposed to that, but there's risk. We'll see how that pans out next year.

So according to the last 2 banks the portal haul will be:
✅ WR (Jacobs)
✅ WR (Vaughn)
✅ S/NB (Thornton)
✅ DT (Carter)
- DE
- OT/G
- TE
- QB
- K

Hopefully some of those last few spots are filled with "elite" talent since we are taking a much smaller portal class this year (e.g., Beaton, Simpson, Wilson). I like the 4 we've added so far but none project as game wreckers which is what I was hoping for this cycle (maybe they turn into Keionte/Jakobee and way outperform their portal grade).

Bring in a guard and move McCoy to tackle… reading between the tea leaves, that means Bell is more likely to leave at this point? I’m just guessing, but Cantwell has to be in line to start/major minutes at RT, yes?

Beyond that, how many bodies are we expecting to lose to the portal after Monday’s game?

Honestly brown and Pringle are good too . We would have to get another big rb out the portal

If we lose Bell, we would have McCoy, Samson, Rodriguez, Kinsler and Cantwell as our starting five?
