james johnson was leaning uga before he moved to mnw. there were articles there stating what schools he seemed to lean to.

his chances to us went up because he moved into mnw...so he is now even closer local. I guess they wont stop recruiting him cause it aint hard to being local but i would focus on other targets if it was me

He is actually pretty typical for a college OL at a bigger program. Not saying you're one of them, but SO many fans think Mauigoa is the norm....5 star OT coming and starting for three years then off to the league as a high draft choice. That is RARE asf and so many people miss that when placing expectations on other guys incoming. I hope Samson does great and sticks around so that he can become that high draft pick that you mentioned.

That is a good point with o-linemen starting to shine by year 3 cause of development and weight room strength. I think the competition here also is something thats making him better choosing to battle and take a position vs leaving to a easier more guaranteed position

We hit a home run with OJ but the DBs last year were terrible. I like our outlook better with the WRs, but never trust a position where freshman are standing out.

This is the most confidence from the staff I’ve ever seen reported. I’m only 31 but still been following pretty closely for a decade.

Particularly noteworthy considering the comments last season from journalist about how shocked they were about FSUs collapse because the staff was similarly confident off the record.

I'm not saying we are seeing the same thing, Cristobal would never fail in the social side of the job in the same way Norvell did, but instead that they must really be this confident if they're going to risk the negative comparison.

We don't seemingly have guys that require confidence, this feels like the coaches believe.

If this kid really from Newark like some have said, their pitch better include some sort of premium to UGA’s offer for every year since we have had a DT drafted in the 1st/2nd round. Newark kids aren’t high on belief in the unseen/unproven.

I for sure thought he would come in and make some noise, but the guys we brought in from the portal have taken over in a hurry! At this point, he probably needs to redshirt. I just hope he stays because it definitely looks like he has the talent.

Pretty sure Antoine was discussed by @DMoney in a recent pod. Seem to remember his highlights being played but don’t remember anything else.

kid had the it from youth ball. i didnt realize he was the qb on those washing park bus team because he was always breaking long runs.

It’s not a perfect comparison, but at this point at camp I would compare to last year as follows:

Restrepo- Toney
Horton- Daniels
George- Trader
Marion- Brown

The top four WR dominated target share last year, along with Arroyo. I could see it being spread out more this season.

Obviously not last year, but this is what it feels like to me.

Toney - Harley
Daniels - Osborne
Trader - Rambo
Marion - Harrell

According to him he is 227, staff wanted him to get to 230. Has gains 25 pounds, he arrived 6-4 202. He just need to get to 245 to be NFL edge size, hopefully he can get there by 2026 season.
