The Bank (7/2)

Serious question for @DMoney

What happened? We had a lot of momentum just 2 weeks ago with the commitments of Briggs, Charles, Spafford, Evans etc. We were also trending very positively for guys like Kolojay, James Johnson, Devin Jackson, Blake Stewart, etc. it looked like we were on our way to a top 5 or maybe even top 3 class

How did things change so quickly? Did NIL dry up? Is this just a stretch of bad luck? Did we prioritize the wrong guys? Now we are the rumored favorite for absolutely zero of our top remaining targets (except Cooper, and that recruitment has suddenly gotten very ominous). I’m not buying the whole “they only want the SEC bro” or “we need to prove it on the field” explanations. That didn’t stop us from assembling a very good to elite class through the 3rd week of June. How did the momentum instantly dry up? How did our strategy instantly go to “we’re waiting on late season flips” mode?

I’m genuinely perplexed to how things got so bleak so quickly when no other factors apparently changed.

Nothing happened. People get way too caught up in words on message boards and minute to minute updates.

I wonder if it would actually work?
This is awesome. The board can see the conversations you and I usually have offline. Ok I’m going to try it with - I mean I’d like to put you on forced ignore of @skeeter but he doesn’t seem to care to be a test subject. I’m usually your test subject and when you give me new powers to do evil things with, I turn to @cway313.

I know. I will put you on forced ignore of @TheOriginalCane as a test subject.

Let me know if you are inhibited from seeing his posts. This should definitely reduce your bandwidth on here.

@Andrew, can you see TOC’s posts?

And if you can’t, are you going to undo ignore or are you just gonna go with it as is???

we are currently 8th in the recruiting rankings with 19 comits.

Id hate to watch football games with some of yall......yall probably stroke out every 3rd down.

Some of the bigger mental midgets imaginable.

We have 12 blue chips committed on the 4th of July.

In the 2024 class, when we were all fighting to suck Mario off, we signed 14. That was part of the #4 class in America.

It’s a fascinating phenomenon and matches society pretty well, IMO. Anything even remotely construed as “bad news” here is just beaten to a pulp. Miserable people stay miserable, more at 11.

I’m just saying we should close on a highly rated WR or safety if the money is right. You’re the one getting reactionary. Our classes have not lived up to the top dogs is all I’m saying.

Yeah man mental midget for sure. I’d just like to win something of importance. My fault.

Very true though it seems like it goes from one extreme to another. A few highly-recruited guys commit and many think we're getting like 10 five stars (and the Turds and Holes are getting a bunch of 2 stars). Then we miss on a few guys and everyone's crying "Mommy, please make it better."

Agree. The whole "just win games" mantra is foolhardy and naive. We just won 10+ games with a historic offense and we can't land a WR1 to save our lives....still. It is not just "win games" - there are other components at play.
Again, only Miami fans remember us winning 10 games. It doesn’t mean jack to the rest of the country.

The only thing the country, media and fans remember is once again, Miami vomiting all over themselves when they were in the drivers seat with the best offense in America. All the hype, all rhe Cam Ward darling talk, culminating in losing 2/3 to unranked conference teams in Georgia Tech and Syracuse, 3/4 if you want to throw in a meaningless bowl game. Nonetheless, the most recent memory is losing three of your last four, all on national television.

Win meaningful games sure, but make the postseason and get to the Playoff….or find a coach that can.
