Top programs have top defenses and that begins right up front in the middle.

We got Bacon who I really like, but we need more - two more elite DTs to make up for our modest results st the position last cycle.

It’s my biggest concern at the moment. We address this and I’m good for ‘26.
 
Lots of great points made here by fellow Canes. During the UM Championship years the one thing that remained constant was a dominating defensive line and LB's that could run but tackle. The DT is the most important facet besides QB in a Championship team.. Take a look at the Georgia and Alabama runs and it starts with their dominating DL lines and LB play. I'm not sure what the problem is with Mario and the other defensive coaches but they are having a problem recruiting in those two areas. A very talented DL and LB core can make our secondary look very good. I hope things change soon.

Just last season alone Dylan Harper went to Rutgers a adidas school and played in Nikes all season Hailey van Lith left a adidas school stayed signed with adidas and transferred to two different Nike schools

No DL/LBs could have made last year's secondary look good.

Great work here amigo. Seems case in point, need an elite big body dt every class. Stars are great, body type is most important. Ie I have no idea how Jordan Davis from UGA was 3 star

Cooper Flagg signed with New Balance but had to wear Nike’s during Duke games and Duke photo shoots, I think.

When it comes to shoes and shoe contracts, I trust @Rellyrell . Not bpayne or lurker.

- Jamichael Garrett, who is also undersized and we just had on an OV and seems like we decided to pass on
- Kosi Okpala, lb19. From Texas. Unless Texas wins like the Griffin battle over Bama and/or another Itd be a tough pull, and he's now coming off a UT OV and Committing on July 3rd.
- DQ Forkpa lb25. Seems we are fully in this battle. Probably just a Big3 battle.
- Tamarion Watkins s32 but we've been recruiting as LB.

After those groups which probalby would only even be considered OKay at best by CIS LBgurus, you have the more depth adds like:
- Adam Balogoun-Ali?
- Maybe Taking another look at Karon Maycock currently committed to FSU, but has visited here a bunch, and obviously plays for Central.
- JJ Bush. From alabama, none of the bama schools after him. Currently has only OVed Tulane. But currently predicted LSU.


So I mean unless we go back around to like Henry Ohlinger at LB trying to flip him from Indiana.... Everyone else at LB is mostly locked in aside from the names we keep hearing we're already on. I think we just need to hope we land one of Okpala or Forkpa, or turn to landing Watkins.

Gators on3 says he weighed in at 270 on his visit maybe headed to DL. If that’s true about the weight then update after his visit here where D$ said he wouldn’t coming to Miami makes sense.

Exactly brands don’t push their kids on schools anymore and it’s not like key signed a big deal it’s basically a marketing deal for socials with adidas no life changing money involved he can go to anywhere he wants

Or maybe his NIL demands came down to realistic levels?

Not saying that is exactly what happened but there was a lot of chatter on 247 boards that he heard unrealistic demands which kind of make sense when you look at his 247 profile. He only visited Miami, Arkansas, and Missouri. Dudes with his size and athleticism are in his demand, they don’t stay home half the weekends in June.
