This may blow up in my face, but I can smell it. I can smell a narrative pivot. I need things on the record. I need expectations set because this happens every **** year.

Can you confirm that within the last 3 weeks, the sentiment and message given by this website was that Miami should be in contention for#1 class and a Top 3 class was not only realistic, but probable enough where we 1. Did a whole pod about it including a class calc mock 2. Allowed posts about ****ing people off due to our coming success in recruiting to run wild. A pivot has occurred where we are ā€œfighting until the endā€ on some of our top targets and there is now no such energy to be found.

Here is the thing - I understand how things change quickly. But I want to show how this is happening in real time and allow the publication to make their stance known so there is no ambiguity. Stand on business. I feel like I’m being set up to be gaslit in 5 months
I mean the main negative is about WR right? Well @1murhurricane has been saying he feels its a top 3 class being setup with potential to be #1... and he's been saying the entire time he hasn't liked where we're sitting at WR. So... I think you're probably overreacting purely based on WR recruiting tbh.

OLine we're only really after Kolojay left, and thats a very nice haul. DLine is the biggest question mark with guys like James Johnson, Anthony Jones, Wilkes, Asharri Charles, and Obviously Lamar Brown as the biggest fish. But still have shot at perry-wright, Nolan Wilson, Stancil. So like if we land some of these big fish on DLine we will have a very good Ol/Dl class. We know we have our QB. We're almost definitely getting Cooper and keeping Mallory at RB. CB we're already off to a good start and just looking to get guys like Smoke, Brody.... Safety is a big question but like Devin Jackson and Blake Stewart seems solid. LB Jordan Campbell and JJ Edwards... I think us getting a top 3 class is basically entirely about what we are about to do at DLine tbh.

No issues with his posts and he’s been pretty locked in. I’m commenting on the narrative shift. We have made a pivot

Here is the latest as we head into the final official visit weekend.

- WR Vance Spafford (Orange County, CA) cancelling his visit took Miami by surprise, but this is part of the business of recruiting. This one is still alive so let’s see how the weekend plays out.

- I sensed a surprising amount of long-term confidence with WRs Tristen Keys (Hattiesburg, MS) and Calvin Russell (Northwestern). The Canes are playing the long game there and don’t intend to let up, no matter what happens in the next month.

- RB Derrek Cooper (Chaminade) continues to trend to Miami. He is a top-of-the-board offensive target. I am very interested to see how the other RB spot plays out. RB Javian Mallory (West Boca) visits this weekend, but the program doesn’t want local players committing and then flirting with schools like Alabama. If you’re looking, they’re looking. They hosted RB Jae Lamar (Moultrie, GA) and he is a very real option. I’m watching this situation closely.

- A name beginning to trend to Miami is TE Zachery Turner (Dallas, TX). In the 2023 class, coaches asked some of the local players about the best players they faced. Jeremiah Smith and the other Chaminade kids emphatically said Elija Lofton. The staff has heard similar feedback from Texas players and coaches about Turner.

- I continue to like where Miami sits for TE Israel Briggs (Vidalia, Ca).

- I also like Miami for recent Tennessee decommit WR Tyran Evans (Charlotte, NC). The Vols wanted to keep him, but the Canes pushed hard after their official visit. Evans is a legit 6’3, 200-pounder who produced against good competition and wins battles in practice against CB Samari Matthews (one of the top overall players on Miami’s board). This recruitment has nothing to do with Keys and Russell- Evans is a take no matter who is in the class.

- I still have Miami as the favorite for OL Breck Kolojay and DT James Johnson (Northwestern), but they are visiting big money schools (Kolojay-USC/Tennessee, Johnson-Texas) so we need to wait and see.

- I think Miami is on the outside looking in for DT Keyshawn Stancil (Raleigh, NC). Clemson made a strong move on their visit.

- Miami is also battling Clemson for S Blake Stewart (Atlanta), who visits Michigan this weekend. It’s a fight, but the Canes are in a strong position there down the home stretch.

- I expect Miami to flip LB JJ Edwards (Orlando). He tested off the charts at the UA Camp (4.57 forty) and had a great spring. He needs to gain some weight, but should be 200+ on arrival at 6’1.

- The Canes will put the full-court press on WR Jasen Lopez (Chaminade) this weekend. He is a priority for Coach Cristobal.

- EDGE Jaquez Wilkes (Wadley, AL) will not be able to visit this weekend due to a legitimate family health issue. Miami supports him rescheduling the visit and remains firmly in play.

- The Canes are still working to flip Michigan commit CB Brody Jennings (Jacksonville) and have a great shot.
What other DT are we looking at . Even it we land James we need two just in case one flips later . We should be recruit dl like we do ol every year . At least one big time kid 5 star , one 4 star and two good prospects imo

We've been recruiting DLine far better than we have Oline as far as the recruiting rankings are concerned, and its really not close whatsoever.

But you're saying that the narrative has shifted, when he's the one who started the "wow" thread kinda what you're referring to as starting the positive narrative towards a top 3 class yet he's BEEN saying he wasn't confident about WR, and then this update drops with really the only main negative being WR really, and you're saying that constitutes a narrative Shift. I'm disagreeing.

Does the actual results of the forthcoming season mean anything anymore. I realize u have to lock these commitments up sooner than in the past. But can’t some of these kids be at Hard Rock when our Canes kick the **** out of ND and Florida in Sept. and have a change of heart?

How do you figure ? I don’t count 5 star de’s as DTs ? We landed one 5 star that’s Scott , blunt might turn into a DT but when we recruited he wasn’t big enough . We need 290 plus superior DT

So, if we are hot after Russell, Keys, JRock, and Evans, who is the more likely 3?
I think Evans is in. Lopez they will try to lock down this weekend. The other two will be longer processes but I heard confidence they could get one or both done. We’ll see. I think that will determine the whole perception of the class.

You first said DT then said DL later about we should recruit DL like we do OLine, so I assumed you were saying DLine as a whole. But we also don't land 1 5star Olineman every year either. We'll have recruited what like 19 total Olineman the past 3-4 years (including this projected class)? Three have been 5 stars - Mauigoa, Okunlola, Cantwell. Literally only 6 (including the 5 stars) will have been rated 90 or above - Bell, SJ, and Now Congdon. Now I am NOT saying that to say I don't like our OLine recruiting. So thats a 10% 5star rate, and a 30% 90+ rate?

But compared to Just DT even we've brought in 5 HS DTs? One was a 5star, another was above a 90. The other 3 are Donta Simpson, Russell, and Newton. But if in this class we get James Johnson that'd be 2/8-9 DT recruits being 5 stars and at least 3/8-9 being above a 90. So that would be at least a 22% 5star rate and 33% 90+ rate....

And obviously if you include EDGE at all it's blowing every other position recruiting out of the water on the roster.

True DT we got Scott and jones two years ago we need that every year or at least 2 top tier DT every year is all I’m saying . I’m not counting 250 hybrid in this . I don’t count DT / DE as one

You’re going to some flack for posting that but you’re spot on. DL , WR , LB and safety position looking bleak. OL as it stands is excellent- need Kolojay. CB haul is strong TE would be decent with Briggs and Turner. RB is elite if Cooper and Lamar are locked in. Hopefully finish top 10. Looks eerily similar to last year

I can take it. Difference is, I actually have a pretty spot on idea of what's transpiring and I will never fluff ****.

This seems to be accurate when comparing reports from late spring/early summer to the fall. especially at certain positions. Maybe it's just the word choice used that makes things seem further along.

It's nothing new. It is fairly common with Mario.
