We're about to enter the heart of recruiting season for the next three months. Here is the latest from the Hecht:

- While Texas A&M should be considered the favorite, Miami remains in contact with OT Mark Matthews (St. Thomas Aquinas). The Canes are also in contact with OT Oluwasemilore Olubobola (Jersey City, NJ). Both of those situations could move fast.

- In terms of the big name guys, communication is particularly strong with CB Gabe Osborne (Oklahoma City, OK) and DT David Folorunsho (Chicago, IL).



- One name trending for the Canes that the staff loves- DT Ezekiel Ayangbile (Houston, TX). He is the son of former Pro Bowler Duane Brown.



- The Canes are looking for a second TE to pair with Demarcus DeRoche (Cardinal Gibbons). Things have cooled with Anthony Cartwright (Detroit, MI) and Jaxon Dollar (Charlotte, NC) remains a longshot. One name to know- 6'5, 220-pounder Jordan Karhoff (Columbus, OH).



- Ty Keys (Poplarville, MS) and Brennen Lacey (Dallas, TX) remain the names to know at running back.

- Two hyper-athletic, multisport names at LB that have Coach Hetherman's attention: AJ Randle (Raleigh, NC) and Jarrell Chandler (Knoxville, TN).



- The Canes hit at West Boca last year with Javian Mallory, and are looking to go back to the well. DT Jamar Thompson remains a strong option, and the staff loved their in-person view of CB Loia Valade, who moved to South Florida from Tennessee. He is a legit 5'11, 180 with verified 4.4 speed. Keep an eye on that name.



- The Canes continue to big-game hunt at DE. All the top names remain in play, with Jabarrius Garror (Mobile, AL) recently joining the mix. They are looking to make a splash at this spot.

He was a borderline top 100 national player, that just isn’t mid in anyway shape or form. He is an excellent prospect and was. Major pickup.

Plenty of very good DTs in cfb that weren’t highly ranked. Holmes from texas tech was a 3 star,Ibirogba just transferred from wf to TT was a 0 star, Tucker from Indiana 0 star, brewu who we recruited out of hs was a 3 star. And it’s more guys out there that wasn’t highly ranked.

So Moten isn’t a outlier but of course you want to get the highly ranked guys just based off physical traits and talent coming out of hs

 

Like I said in the Matthews thread. If money isn’t the issue, then it has to be either the people or person.

Really strange how this recruiting season has been going after the best season and draft of our last 20 plus years. Somethings not connecting with the top recruits

As long as we get OT Oluwasemilore Olubobola in this class I’m fine. Have to get one of either him or Matthews but if it’s him, I’m all good because that dude is a stud just like Matthews is.. get it done Mario!

I’m the same exact way my friend and now I don’t listen to the podcasts anymore. For me it all started last year when ol boy petey boy was ****ting on our defensive line. At that point, I had had enough of that punk. I’m not gonna listen to a ******* knee knocked dork **** on our defensive line when that kids never been on the grid iron a day in his life. At that point in time, I told that punk to worry about basketball and leave football to people who actually know about the game, you know people who played it. I also can’t stand the mouth on that little punk and I’m surprised @DMoney lets him get away with that **** on the podcast. I only listened to the Cane’s connection podcast now because it’s just the Dmoney. Get Pete’s attitude in line and people will start listening to the podcasts again. And to everyone on here, join Canes connection because you get podcast where it’s just Dmoney and you don’t have to listen to that insufferable punk Pete anymore.

He and his family are approaching it from a mindset that NIL doesn't exist and its 5 years ago and then what decision would he make. He knows he will be compensated no matter where he goes, but its not a highest bidder mentality.
