Charles is a major player…On the heels of Lowe and Blount the year before that, although in Blount's case may be better at DT.

Lowe is on a different level level than Charles.

This. We only lost Blay for a few games and Moten and Scott stepped up big time. Can’t count on that next season. We absolutely need a DT3 from the portal.

They may like/love Wallace, they may like/love Redding, they may like/love Donnegan. They may see more versatility in guys like Portis/Jennings, etc. than you do.

They probably would say there were years it was a joke in the past, but don't want to stretch and know they can hit the portal. And in all honestly it didn't matter because we had really good safety play and a really good defense this year.

No inside information. He was committed to the Gaytor and when we got the DB coach.he switched to us.
Seems to have a strong connection to that cosch and has beem commited to him at two different schools for a very long time. Hopefully that brings him home.

He’s got a couple teammates too that Gaby alluded to too that have been his ear about a reunion

I’m guessing the state schools system and hospitals are gonna have smaller budgets because their paying 3 coaches right now (lane, Kelly, and O) and still found money to up the NIL coffers

Wallace was coming off major injury. Dunnigan is a very good recruit though I think he'll more likely play Nickel. But regardless Mario has already signed 4 classes, and Fitzgerald was the only Really good one. Portis isn't a safety, he's a CB/Nickel. Jennings, sure.
WE STILL NEEDED Stewart/Fitzpatrick/JettWashington... Have you seen our Safety room without portal additions? It's been A crime scene.

Yes we needed those types last year, even those who didn't like or were a little hesitant on Fitzgerald didn't think he was that type of recruit. And we still had one of the best safety duos in America…Top 7 or 8?

I agree with you we always want better recruits but you are really overdoing it.

I was right there with you last year, thought Safety was a total dumpster fire. No one is going to argue with the poor S recruiting in the first three classes. That’s why Addae and Jackson are no longer our DB coaches.

But the last class and this look just fine. We all wanted Stubbs, Stewart, Fitzpatrick. We didn’t get them. We did however get Fitzgerald and Poyser. Poyser had three years of eligibility so should be considered Stubbs’ replacement — who wouldn’t take that trade all day every day? Thomas is all ACC. We did well in the portal. That’s what we have to do again, but probably only need 1 this time since our depth is finally looking respectable there.

So I think you’re overreacting a little. I get the concern. But we’re one portal add from a pretty **** good group of guys.

I mean I specifically said without considering portal. which is pretty important.... This is about HS recruiting. It's been LITERALLY the worst recruiting postion group on the entire roster. Not landing a top player in ADDITION to Dunnigan is a complete fail. No other way to put it.
Same as EDGE. We need to keep stacking there. Stancil is very good. And combine with the 3 depth pieces to add to DT I like it. But that sets up NEXT season to NEED a 5star DT. Same way this year we needed a 5star EDGE.

Just relying on portal isn't good anywhere but QB. We need to do better out of HS. All there is to it.
