I bet you said that about moten!
I did.

I also said that about Daylen Russell and Josh Horton.

The data shows that most players ranked below 400 are typically going to be minimal contributors at best. Go back and look at all those 400+ rated players from previous classes and see how many you like versus how many you don't.

We need depth period. Hopefully they can be developed and contribute. **** Russell has contributed more than Artavius Jones… as little as it’s been.
Donta Simpson has been a hit so far, he was low rated.

I can respect that response! But, everybody can't be 4 or 5 stars or we would lose half the team every year because don't nobody wants to wait and develop anymore.

Why can’t we recruit or develop LBs anymore? We have always had good LBs, even when we weren’t great. Under Mario it’s been a real issue. Bonner had some highlights yesterday that made me laugh. Now we know why he hasn’t sniffed the field.
South Florida used to produce them every year now it doesn’t

You're right. I guess my frustration with Mario here is that we're grabbing projects/developmental guys but he keeps missing on the big fish that we expected him to start landing.

When you can combine the elite players, the good players and the developmental players, that's when you're doing big things on the recruiting trail.

Your last paragraph is where we're deficient at! We have the good, and developmental players, but we're lacking elite players and we need more!

every team in s.fla is running around with 5'10-6'0 180 pound kids at linebacker because literally every team runs the spread down here.....

miami norland lost a state game two years ago with like 30 div 1 recruits to a team with like 5...because tampa berkley came out and ran iform, pro style and some wing looks and just ran it down their throat...and they had those two freakshow dl twins at fsu along with d1 kids up an down that roster because norland didnt know how to line up or get run fits on them lol.

s.fla though now produces an insane amount of top of the line edge rushers...

look at jordan campbell he transfers to mnw and they place him right away at edge. Had he came to Mcarthur im sure @Coach Macho would of had him at mlb getting off the ball reps....

S.fla may have under 10 guys that can even coach the lb position properly in dade, broward, palm collectively.

I heard he was thinking about coming. He even started following me. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Then he goes to MNW to run the edge. 🙄

I ended up moving a 6'0" 190lb Safety to that LB spot and he's having a **** of a year. (he's got 5 picks now at Linebacker!)

Yeah it's pretty wild what has happened to the Linebacker position in South Florida.

First and foremost...
We don't really have a lot of those body types down here. The ideal LB recruit is 6'1"-6'2" with a frame that can hold 225+ while still being able to move.
They basically want big Safeties.

And herein lies the bigger problem...

The kids that we do have (with those body types) don't want to play Linebacker. They wanna play the prettier positions, like Safety. Or their slappy a$s coaches who don't know how to develop just throw the kid on the edge and tell him to go get the quarterback. We have a bunch of LB bodies playing the edge down here.

Another issue too - strength & conditioning
Physical development.

You guys are both right. With 105 cap, I’d take three projects a year expecting 1 to hit. I do think we expected more from Scott and Blount to get bigger, but he is more DE than DT. Those are your two elite guys. We’ve missed on more recent ones, need to fix that.

Or they play RB.

Great insight because I have been wondering where all the SF Lbers have gone.

Use to be a tradition.
