I would be shocked if Lopez ended up in this class.
The Bye Week is a work week when it comes to recruiting. Here is the latest:
- Javian Mallory (West Boca) is locked in at running back, but the Canes are looking to stack talent. One name to keep an eye on: Atlanta four-star Amari Latimer. The Wisconsin commit is having an outstanding senior season and the folks in the Hecht have noticed:
- The strategy at defensive line is simple: "Swing for the fences." Expect aggressive pushes for the likes of Anthony "Tank" Jones (Mobile, AL), Bryce Perry-Wright (Atlanta, GA) and Dre Quinn (Atlanta, GA).
ASAP. Fickell is gonna get canned soon.I have the ability. And I shall be ready whence ye call

- The Canes are also working multiple fronts at wide receiver. The name with the most juice is four-star Milan Parris (Akron, OH). He recently decommitted from Iowa State and is visiting in two weeks. The staff is working that one hard. While Paris is the guy to watch, another name to add to the board is Vanderbilt commit Keeyshawn Tabuteau (Chattanooga, TN). The Quebec, Canada native recently posted a 10.8 100M on the track .
- Calvin Russell (Northwestern) and Jasen Lopez (Chaminade) remain live targets as local receivers. Those are fluid situations.
- TE Israel Briggs (Visalia, CA) is committed and the Canes continue to push for TE Luke Brewer (Des Moines, Iowa). Another name to add to the board is TE Gavin Mueller from Chicago. Like many of the new names on the board, the 6'5, 255 Colorado commit is having a strong senior season. He also plays basketball:
- The strategy at defensive line is simple: "Swing for the fences." Expect aggressive pushes for the likes of Anthony "Tank" Jones (Mobile, AL), Bryce Perry-Wright (Atlanta, GA) and Dre Quinn (Atlanta, GA).
- With Clemson struggling, Miami is working multiple flips. I think there is more traction with S Blake Stewart (Atlanta, GA) than OC Grant Wise (Pace, FL). Stewart remains an extremely high priority at safety.
- Another Atlanta-area safety that the Canes are evaluating is Indiana commit Jamar Owens. He is visiting this weekend.
- As first reported on CanesInSight, Miami is making a serious push for #1 2027 QB Elijah Haven (Baton Rouge, LA) while continuing to pursue high-priority target Trent Seaborn (Birmingham, AL).
- Coach Heatherman would love to add another linebacker, and he recently visited Louisville native (and Cardinals commitment) Karsten Busch. The 6'3, 223-pound former TE continues to rise as a defender.
Maybe this is why @TheOriginalCane has been offline.Hitting ATL HARD!
We need bruisers with a big olThere should be better options than Latimer. Talented but not game breaking speed
about **** time...may be trailing me on some of these takes. But Latimer looks the goods and is an origanl s fla kid he isnt a ga boy. His upside to me is just as high as derrick cooper. A class of him and Mallory is extremly good. Kid catches out of the backfield really well and will eb over 220 his entire time here if he commits imo
Like to take some of fsu dl just to hurt them in the trenches and to keep them crying . Same **** jimbo use to us when we was facing sanctions . Steal one of our position of need and have him de commit the last possible minute to make sure we couldn’t replace him .It so makes my heart smile to see what programs are flopping and then Mario raiding their classes.
Laitmer is a metro transplant from south florida lol.We may end up with more kids from Metro Atlanta than S Fla by the time it’s all done.
I’m kidding, but not by much. You know what we say up here. A 3 star in Metro Atlanta is like a 5 star anywhere else. Which means our 4 stars like Latimore are actually 6 stars, which didn’t exist until I just made it up.
Wouldn't care in the least If they are after him. To me after watching very little of his tape I don't understand why he's a take either. Just seems clumsy to me.Is OSU after Parris? He lives literally up the road from them. If not, don’t see how he is a take.
Agree with you 100% about Latimer. I love his highlights.about **** time...may be trailing me on some of these takes. But Latimer looks the goods and is an origanl s fla kid he isnt a ga boy. his brother is up there now playing db and wanted to portal in here as well.

He plays a lot like Mallory to my eyes. Big RB’s who are shifty getting through the hole, have the speed to get to the next level, cause problems to DB’s trying to tackle him, and run like natural RB’s (as opposed to Cooper to me who looks like a natural LB playing RB on offense because of how good he is athletically).
