The Bag Men Are Very Real...

For anyone still living in unicorn and fairy land, **NEWSFLASH**!!!

The bag men are very real. I'm talking to you Cold Beer and the rest of the porsters that claim that winning is all we have to do to get top classes. While I agree that it'll help, it won't magically bring us back to getting #1 classes.

Some of you forget that Nick "The Midget" Satan had an abysmal first season at 'Bama, and he still pulled in a great class the following year. 'Bama had sucked for a good number of years and had been under NCAA punishment for violations a couple of times. It all changed when he came on the scene and his best buddy, NCAA President, Emmert (most crooked guy in sports), landed the job. 'Bama and the SEC had finally gotten it's dream scenario. A guy that would cover up any major violations by said conference while torching (or trying to) the competition.

Urban Cryer did the same at Taint. Taint had fallen off the map. They were sucking it up bad. Then, almost as if by magic, he started landing top classes from the get go.

Same thing with Jimbo at FSWHO?! They had been mediocre under Bowden for the last few years of Bobby's reign. Then all of a sudden ole hillbilly Jimbo takes over and magically starts to reel in top classes.

Clemson pays top dollar, too. That's how they got back to elite status after years of mediocrity before sly Dabo showed up on the scene.

The bottom line is clear. Money talks and B.S. walks!

After all of the pics showing H.S. recruits flashing big wads of cash and fancy brand new sports cars, you'd think people would stop drinking the Kool Aid. Most of these top recruits come from low income families, but then all of a sudden have all this cash to flash and the money to buy $30,000 sports cars. It's laughable to think that it's legit.

Even after the article titled "The Bag Man", which has been shared on this site, some people still refuse to believe the truth.

I believe that Richt is a very good coach and great recruiter, but even he will have a mountain to climb. The U can't afford to pay-to-play the game. They are being watched by the NCAA more than any other school. The powers that be fear the U coming back to prominence. That would throw a huge monkey wrench into their ESECPN machine, and that's a big no-no.

Richt and staff have done an excellent job so far, considering the **** fest that the last staff left. One thing that in my opinion will be night and day is the player development. I think that this staff has what it takes to teach, plan and execute on the field.

Paradise Camp was a great start to getting back on the right track. Hopefully some of these top local kids will soon start valuing putting on for their city more than the cash, cars, family jobs, full scholarships for girlfriends (here's looking at you Byrd and Fils-Aimes), etc..

At the end of the day, it's still all about this U!!!

Yes...the sky IS blue...water IS wet...I agree 100%.

I started this thread for the trolls/porsters that claim that there is no payola going on. That simply winning will be the cure all.

Well they're too ******* stupid to even argue with. Everyone knows players get paid, it happens.

Urban Meyer went undefeated his first season at Ohio State. You really think OSU wasn't getting any recruits?

Do bag men exist? Yes. Does Miami have to publicly discourage them due to being on probation and hated? Of course. So what is the point of the thread?

I'll never believe the NCAA WASN'T dragging their feet in our investigation in order to help other schools take talent from South Florida. Not only did they want to bury UM, they wanted to take their time doing so in order for schools to be able to say, "Are you sure you want to go to Miami? They might not even have a team in two years! Now, check what's in the bag."

And how do you think that Taint was getting top recruits? They were paying top dollar. Urban Cryer is one of the dirtiest coaches in football, just like the midget, he will do whatever it takes to win. Even if that means covering up for murderers/thieves/rapists, etc.. He's proved his mettle time and again. No measly crime is too big to keep him from winning the 'ship.

^^^^This

Those clowns were trying hard to kill our program once and for all. Thank God that they were too stupid to pull it off. Their corruption knows no boundaries.

Between them and the treasure troll (Shalala), college football fans almost got their wish, the end of our program.

Can't wait til we repay them a hundred-fold by kickin' *** on the gridiron!

If we were "playing the game", guys like Jeudy would be locks to come here. Think about it, get paid to stay home in the comforts of your own city, play in front of your family/friends, or get paid to go live in the slum that is Tuscaloosa for 4 years. We're definitely not "playing the game", if we were, the choice would be a simple one for him.

other places are just better at it not hard to figure out

Miami has bag men too.

every school does

Miami has bag men too.

Yea, but our bag men are too **** stupid to keep their mouths closed and/or cover their tracks. We need our bag men to stay in the shadows, like the $EC guys, and not try to be celebrities and ****. Another issue is our NUMBER. We lacking. But, man if only I could hit the Powerball.... :rickflair2:

Not true we just cant afford to play at the level Alabama and others play at. Do you think Shapiro is the only rich guy in Miami that loves the U? Don't be silly. Just in Tuscaloosa that is everyone's cash machine. They are invested in that school and way of life. Just how it is. Way different life in Miami or south Florida at that.
