The Athletic: Sam Leavitt possibly to Miami or TTU

I’d rather have a quarterback who can play in the spring. Beck missing the spring and some of the summer with surgery rehab definitely affected his game.

I was never on the Sellers bandwagon and this weekend proved it. He might bring elite athletic traits, but he’s not an elite quarterback.

CJ Bailey did not impress me this weekend. NC State was overmatched but nothing he did made me think he was special. If Bailey wasn’t a hometown kid would many of us be interested?

JKS seems very unlikely given everything I’ve read here. I don’t know if anyone even projects him to enter the portal, let alone be willing to transfer across the country.

Regardless of where he’s from he’ll be around 70 percent completion percentage , 3000 + yards and 20 + TD.. I think some people here overrate hometown guys and some devalue them just to be contrarian. If Bailey was from say Pa and putting up these numbers at NCSU in his second year most would be on board. That said I’m not sky high on the guy but he’s better than Beck especially when he’s 3 years younger carrying more of the load.

Once again could somebody explain to me why “Sellers is inaccurate as **** and can’t throw “ but has the same comp % this year as Leavitt and five points higher last year; yet we’re jizzing our pants for Leavitt? How does that work ? Not to mention Leavitt is in a much more qb friendly offense.

Not saying I don’t want him but it’s kinda odd.
We're calling Arroyo QB friendly now? That's new.

I don't get the disdain for Sellers too though, that's just odd. Thats a young QB who had the pressure to deliver and was let down ultimately. Team doesn't play too well around him and he needs to carry the burden too often on his own.

But both would be absolutely excellent here. More worried about the OC than the QB options.

I'd take Bailey, but he'd better be taking a home team discount.

We had this problem with Ward and Beck - we were scrambling around literally dragging kids out of the Draft in January. The last two season are (hopefully) 10+ win years, but they could both have been disasters without those QBs signing on.

We need to raise the floor of that room so we're not heading into the offseason with just Williams, Anderson and Nickel.

Yes compared to Mike freaking Shula it’s a much more qb friendly offense with a HC known for his offenses and coaching qb. If you’ve watched both teams it’s pretty obvious to anyone with two eyes.

Sellers routinely misses absolute layups.

If you take him as your QB you have to heavily incorporate Read-Option 'cos he's not going to sit back there and dice teams up.

Sellers is a much better passing QB than that stinking pile of garbage Leavitt. Dude is like a poor mans Tim Tebow. Can't throw worth crap. Wildly inaccurate and they don't ask him to do much.
