The absurdity of CIS HC criteria

And it is equally clear you are living in your mother's basement. but because of congenital, neurologiical defects you are unable to see I was interested in a discussion of the difference in search criteria between then an now.
You’re so angry. Lol

Your post is tired, stale, and holds no weight in this age, therefore you got the type of response I deemed worthy of this thread.

Somebody else has probably already explained, but I’ll give it a try anyway. Back then, Miami had a huge talent advantage. All those 5* kids we lose to bama used to go to Miami. Also, other college schemes were crazy antiquated. Turns out running an option offense when the other team’s DL is faster than your RB is tough. So. An embarrassment of talent covers up a lot of weaknesses.
Those kids wouldn't have gotten 5 star ratings back in the day because they were in the hood is the difference.

But 99% of this board wants the BOT to handpick our next coach instead of... you know.... letting the AD perform the duties of the job.

Columbus mafia is out to ruin us.
Thank goodness your mopey *** got banned. You're insufferable

This was one of the most funny fights I have ever seen on the internet.

Yesterday we had land lines and walkie talkies. Today we have cell phones. Tomorrow cell phones probably obsolete. Rediculous to try to say one era should be like the last.

The voluminous and repetiitive threads on coaching criteria and candidates bear little resemblance to the coaching legends that so may pine for.

Butch Davis was never a HC at the college level prior to Miami. Explain to me why they were good candidates then but unacceptable now. Isn't it really the luck of the draw?
We can’t afford to gamble. If this hire isn’t a success, I don’t see the program recovering

Sometimes its beyond previous records and Xs and Os... sometimes it's " Can this Mfer handle these bad *** kids from the hood"

Coaches coach. You can’t win without talent. We need a coach that can recognize the need and fill it We need a coach that would know what to do with the talent.

So your theory is we should only target coaches with mediocre W/L records because it worked when we hired Johnson and Erickson. Interesting.

Johnson went 8 - 4 in the Big 8 conference his last season with OSU. At the time that was considered a remarkable achievement. The conference was completely dominated by OU and Nebraska. Erickson was highly regarded for his creative offenses at Washington State despite his W/L record.
Yeah, that is what he said. Smdh

Who would your candidate(s) be?

Criteria:
1. Must be undefeated every year
2. Must have a top 3 recruiting class every year
3. Must make every player delete social media
4. Must have an abbreviated name such as CMR, CMD, CMC, CLK
5. See 1 & 2
6. Anyone but Manny

That should be enough to not get a banner after game 1

i'm fine with just #6 right now

As much as X’s and O’s are critical on gameday, I’d think this hire has to be someone that has structured a team in the past. We can’t have it all (#1 offense/#1 defense) but we must find a coach with an identity which our team can reflect. Look at Pat Riley for instance, in all his years, Lakers, Knicks, Heat, dude had different players but they all had fight, Pat was also that same type of player. Players feed off their coach. This next coach doesn’t need to correct it all at once, and wont, but we play hard nose ball year in and year out, disciplined at that, and things would look different in coral gables. Sorry for the ramble.
