That True Frosh Schott looked good!

This one is a shocker, but I’m pretty sure he was injured most of the year and maybe he just misses home. Will be in shame to see where he goes to next. I trust the staff and their eval‘s to find a replacement in the portal if need be.

It's not about targets. It's about snaps.

Bauman was *** all year and is finally at least blocking decent now, but still a complete waste in the pass game, and he never ******* left the field. Lofton when he was "hurt" and playing like **** never left the field.

It's ridiculous. Schott and Gilbert should have been getting FAR more PT than they have been. Idk what the **** our TE coach is doing, but it's not much imo
This is a great point. Our freshman TE's were playing just as good or better as Bauman and Lofton early in the season, but get no snaps as the season continues and no snaps in the final games.

Whereas, we have a freshman RB (Pringle) that outplayed one of our starting RB's (Lyle) early in the season. Pringle is rewarded with more snaps/game time, as well he should be.

This is why it's confusing to me, unless Schott and Gilbert were injured and unable to play the entire 2nd half of the season.

When did these freshmen outplay anyone? Certainly not in a game.

They looked good the limited times they were in. I know Schott played in the BC game and played well, so you can say the competition was weak. Gilbert played in a few games and looked pretty good. Neither Schott and Gilbert got a ton of targets, but they looked like they belonged. I also remember both of them having some good blocking on some runs.

Regardless, as bad as Bauman and Lofton were playing, we should have seen more Schott and Gilbert.

No one is talking about blocking and understanding our scheme. The reason our freshman play in this offense is because you see clear understanding of role and assignment, and a willingness to block. Toney, Moore, and Pringle.

If you block, you are granted opportunities to be involved in the offense. You block on 60% of all plays and run a route on 40%. It's possible that regardless of physical gifts and receiving talent that the understanding of assignment did not click and therefore opportunities were not granted.
