Was embarrassing and pathetic. Dawson , with decent field position, 4 minutes, 3 TOs and the 2 Minute stop was playing for a FG. No attempt or even hope of a TD to steal a game. I get that beck had 3 picks but if you don’t trust him he shouldn’t be in. We’re trying to win the game , not appease his feelings. Bunch formations. 3 yard outs . Hoping to make a 40+ FG for what? An OT loss?
Scared to win. Flat out embarrassing.

It was pathetic. And predictable. Just happy to be in field goal range. That’s who is running our program and preaches toughness

Did you just need to vent?

So typical and predictable.

If we "go for the jugular", like against Florida State, people whine about not kicking the field goal.
If we try to avoid another terrible throw, people whine that we didn't go for the jugular.

Completely different situations and the fact that you don’t understand the difference makes your opinion pretty worthless imo

I’m glad this is highlighted. As we started driving, I noticed we were bleeding the clock and it dawned on me, we’re doing the same **** we did against ND, playing for the FG. What’s the proverb? Going to the well one, too, many times? Instead of going for the jugular w all the momentum on our side, we decided to play for a “potential” game tying FG & OT v. the W.

It bit us in the ***.

And the irony is throwing a 2 yard pass going nowhere. Like oh we are trying to be aggressive here. Nah. Weak

Being there in the section behind the bench there didn’t seem to be any sense of urgency… how you didn’t want to push all your chips in when you were lucky to be in a position to win or tie with 4 clock stoppages is mind boggling

Louisville deserved to win that game and we had a chance to steal it and sneak out with a win. Beck was awful all night and he capped it off but Dawson/mario doubled down with that decision making down the stretch

Love the boldface here.

The FG was the juglar.

We were up 9 w/ 1:17 to play. Kicking the FG here not only puts us up 12, but it forces FSU to attempt to score two TDs vs. a TD & FG. Two totally different scenarios & situations, especially when one was we’re up two scores w time on our side & the other was we’re down trying to win the game w time on our side.

We had the momentum at that time. We had 4 timeouts (with 2 minute warning). You play to win the game there. Odds are against us in overtime as Louisville had outplayed us on offense and defense throughout the game. If I'm the coach I'm doing everything possible to win the game on that drive.

Clock management was also crap on that drive. I was screaming at my tv to call timeout when we got tackled with 52 seconds left. Instead they let another 20 seconds run off while we sat on all 3 timeouts. Terrible.
