You know how announcers say “That player isn’t gonna like what he sees in film study tomorrow” when a player does something dumb or bad? Well..Mario, Dawson, Mirabel and to a lesser extent Hetherman (he did adjust after that 2nd TD drive)….they should all be cringing this morning at the how out coached they got on Friday night. Absolutely embarrassed as a staff. That is my hope. It was really embarrassing as a fan to witness.

Not sure that’s an earned reputation. For example, he didn’t choke against ND.

What is valide, however, is that he chokes against inferior ACC opponents when favored by double-digits. It’s maddening.

He made the ND a pressure situation by coaching not to lose vs coaching to win.

I’m glad this is highlighted. As we started driving, I noticed we were bleeding the clock and it dawned on me, we’re doing the same **** we did against ND, playing for the FG. What’s the proverb? Going to the well one, too, many times? Instead of going for the jugular w all the momentum on our side, we decided to play for a “potential” game tying FG & OT v. the W.

It bit us in the ***.

And that is exactly why this Clown will never ever lead us to anything but offseason trophies. A meathead like that would never have the mental capacity to comprehend why going all in to score a TD and steal the game was the only way to play it. The guy is wired to play not to lose and when enough of the roster figures that out he will lose them if his gutless handling of the end of the UL game hasn't lost them already.

Was embarrassing and pathetic. Dawson , with decent field position, 4 minutes, 3 TOs and the 2 Minute stop was playing for a FG. No attempt or even hope of a TD to steal a game. I get that beck had 3 picks but if you don’t trust him he shouldn’t be in. We’re trying to win the game , not appease his feelings. Bunch formations. 3 yard outs . Hoping to make a 40+ FG for what? An OT loss?
Scared to win. Flat out embarrassing.

all said, we were in position with all the necessary resources to steal one, last drive was awful failure. All parts. This is not being discussed enough, press needs to ask this week…

Can anyone who was at the game directly across from our sidelines confirm Mario & staff looked conflicted between going for the win or tie which led to clock mismanagement? I saw this posted on social media by someone alleging to seeing it 1st hand

I was not there but I cannot ever imagine being conflicted about going for the win in that situation.
