We will be in a serious challenge.

Their Strengths is our weakness.

Should be interesting. We will probably have to hit a ton of threes to have solid chance.

Texas is spotty from deep. They **** well against Xavier but thru the season, very spotty deep.

Pretty athletic and good D. Texas is solid and their resume says so

I would argue that we are about to see the beat offensive team in the tourney against he best defensive team.
Texas and Houston play a similar style of defense, but Texas does it with longer athletes, and more importantly, in a much better conference that prepared them for this tourney. UT’s big guy maybe out and that definitely helps us, but they have so much confidence right now.

It’s a shame that these 2 teams aren’t meeting in the Final 4 but as many of us were arguing before Omier’s injury, UM should have been a 3 seed at worst. The eyes tell a lot more than a computer ranking.

Texas doesn't play anybody over 6'9" and the 6'9" guy was in a walking boot in the 2nd half. His replacement who had a career game is 6'7". That kid tripled his season average. Omier will be the strongest guy on the floor like he usually is. No distinct height advantage for Texas. We'll spread them out and see if their guards can handle ours for 40 minutes at our pace. Tyrese Hunter who plays for Texas was on that Iowa State team our guys beat in the Sweet 16 last year.

We should be able to attack Cunningham. He is UT’s “glue guy” but he’s really not very good. He hustles.
UT doesn’t have a star player that we need to take away. They are just so disciplined on defense that I don’t think we can challenge them to a track meet like we did to Houston or Auburn last year. We will have to make contested shots, play fundamentally sound with few turnovers. We won’t get nearly as many “easy” baskets.
UT has always been the team that worried me, along with how UConn has been playing in the tourney. We are on the much, much, tougher side of things

I’ve seen Texas play a bunch this year. Like us, their guards run the show. Carr and Rice can light it up but can also shoot them out of games. Hunter seems to be the most consistent. Thankfully we’re familiar with him from last year. Allen and Bishop are guys that get after it. Omier will have his hands full, but he’s better than both of them. We’ll see about Disu. But Omier is better than him too.

They’ve played a ton of games that had 8-10 point runs back and forth. Multiple times. If we’re up 10 or down 10 don’t get too excited or too discouraged.

Like us it seems like they’ve hit their stride at the right time. If neither team has their best stuff, the difference I’ve seen is, Texas has played a couple of awful, full 40 minutes. As opposed to Miami only having a couple of bad 5-8 minute stretches and a 20 minute outlier against FSU. Maybe that’s bc of how good the Big 12, who knows. That’s the long way of saying I think they have a slightly higher ceiling, but a much lower floor. And in a winner take all situation, it’s always good to have your worst, be better than their worst.

Duke is the biggest team we played and while it wasn’t the past Duke Teams with regards to how good they were; when Lively was in they were very good defensively as the year progressed.

There is no team left in the tourney that has something we haven’t seen. I would love to see us get UConn so their big and Omier can go to war because him and the kid at Kentucky maybe the only two guys who are close to Omier in “basketball” strength.

At the same time would love to see Omier dominate Timme

No kidding. Texas, UConn and us are likely the three best teams left.

Yup exactly what I saw last night watching the 2nd half of their game. J Miller and Norchad have a chance to set the tone early. I can see J Miller putting on a clinic
