Texas fan base all in on Sark & Longhorns this season

What did big oil give Texas that is out of UM’s reach?

No idea, I was parroting a common answer to your question. My guess based on context clues is that because of Big Oil’s deep pockets they can outbid on any players Texas may want, where for us apparently we have our limits. I think cribby has alluded to this a few times during offseason recruiting (miami not being a top tier NIL program). I honestly don’t know what any of that means, but it’s just me putting together a puzzle.

I don’t expect Miami to be 11-1 next year lol Cmon be serious.

I’m curious… What resources is…
11-1 maybe not. 10 wins and a chance at the conference championship? Absolutely

If Mario goes 6-6 next season and refuses to make changes we’ll still be stuck with him. Why? Because we don’t have unlimited resources to pay his buyout.

1. Their own network
2. An endless supply of NIL money
3. Boosters who will pay any buyout necessary
Now we’re back to the money excuse? I was told that was BS last year. TX has always had endless $$ and paid top dollar for players when it was illegal. Yet a real coach comes in and in 3 years he is 11-1 and has a roster that is absolutely stacked with NFL players.

Mario wants to be exactly like what the Longhorns are right? Do we run the same offense as Sark?

I already said that money isn’t a sure thing. But it’s still necessary. Why do you think TCU and Ole Miss are stuck hoping for one generational year? Lack of resources.

Money helps you get the players you need in the room, but obviously it’s not the only factor for a winning program. Coaching, talent evaluations, strength & conditioning amongst other things, all factors that matter. But money absolutely is key.

1) They’ve had the network for over a decade, and didn’t win anything. 2) USA Today valued Texas’ NIL #4. Miami comes in at #5. 3) You have a point here…Texas has definitely not shied away from buying coaches out.

So what you’re saying is the resource most directly leading to their success is quality coaching. Ok, that makes sense.

Right. So the real resource is quality coaching. Lots of teams are willing to burn money, and do, and still can’t get that quality coaching.

USA Today ranked Texas NIL 4, and Miami 5… NIL is talent acquisition, right? Texas hasn’t had a talent acquisition problem the last 18 years.. so whatever resource dude was talking about goes beyond “players”..

That’s why I find Texas so intriguing. I don’t think many people were thinking Texas would be 11-1 after last year. Personally I was thinking something like 9-10 wins for them.

Next year is Mario’s year 3. Hopefully he learned a lot this year. Less then 10 wins tells me he may be too stubborn to get this thing turned around.

Ultimately college football comes down to Coaching, Talent, and Resources. If any one is severely lacking, you won’t win consistently.
