Texas fan base all in on Sark & Longhorns this season

I wouldn't be surprised if they went into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama. Only 7 pt dogs now as they've seen sharp money since opening.

Combination of Texas having a **** good/borderline elite roster and a down year for Alabama. Crimson Tide could lose 3 games easily.
Their qb play is suspect as ****. This is as unimpressive of a Bama team as I’ve seen in years. 2-3 losses is very doable. Btw Arkansas is another sneaky team to watch this year.

Yeah, the Hogs had some unlucky losses last year .... A&M comes to mind with a game-changing 97-yard fumble return and that last-minute FG try that doinked off the goal post.

Those things tend to have a way of evening out from year to year

One of my buddies is a big time Texas fan and has been insufferable to talk to about football this offseason. They have a very good roster and a very manageable schedule. Outside of Bama, idk if they will be dogs in any games they play in. If they take care of the games they should and take the conference title, could be a playoff year for them.

There’s a reason they were scrapping and digging for a portal qb and the ND bum is all they could find.

Yeah, Tyler Buchner ain't exactly a home run 😏

Leprechaun fans were ecstatic Saban hired away Tommy Rees as OC. He was pretty unpopular up there. A lot of folks thought he got the OC job in part because his dad was the scouting director for the Irish.

Saban tried to get Washington's offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb, but that never was gonna happen. The guy is tied at the hip with Kalen DeBoer, plus Michael Penix and those stud receivers they got had already announced they were coming back for the '23 season. Grubb pretty much flirted with Bama to get another raise at UW and now he's making $2M a year.

Did saban try for Devin Leary or Sam Hartman? Those 2 woulda been a good fit as veterans who have had success with lesser talent and won big games with 35+ tds in season..

Sounds like a fan base we know all too well 😐

Got another buddy who is an FSU fan and he has been the absolute worst to discuss. Last year made my buddy delusional. He's talking about how they are playoff bound and how when you really look at it, roster talent and depth wise, FSU, UGA, OSU, CLEM, and BAMA are all roughly around the same so it's not inconceivable that they go undefeated on their way to a title.

I don't think Saban knew he needed a vet transfer til spring ball lol

Nah man lol that roster is nowhere near the top 5 of saban’s best teams. Some nice pieces in the secondary but with the mid qb and those off season hires im not high on bama at all, bryce covered up so much. I see 9-3 for them, now bad but a clear step down.
The coordinator hires made no sense, but they are loaded. I’m not sure how anyone can say otherwise. We rate rosters based on recruiting rankings, and this is one of his best collections of that in his tenure.

You can say the same thing about Texas' roster. They've recruited incredibly well and actually have talent at quarterback.

Texas’ roster isn’t on the same planet as Bama’s. And again I’m not saying Bama is gonna beat Texas or that they’re gonna go 12-0 or 0-12. All I’m saying is that the downfall of Bama is way overplayed. There is zero evidence that they won’t be a top team again this year.

Say what you want about Jalen Milroe, but he didn’t lose when he started. I know he didn’t play against the best opponents, but the schedule this year isn’t great either. Texas, LSU, and Tenn is all. They went 1-2 in those games last year. So why is it doom and gloom for this year?

You have people hyping Texas for no other reason than recruiting. On-field play has been garbage. Tenn lost their QB and their best off weapons. IMO LSU is the class of the SEC West. It’ll be similar results for Bama as last year.

Why do you like Arkansas so much this year? Two pretty big downgrades at coordinators going from Briles to Enos and Odom to Travis Williams.
