Texas A&M Recruiting

unlimited resources...as said above.
plus dude knows how to croot...as said above.
basically he will stack rosters and catch lightning in a bottle and score NC bids every so often - sound familiar?
Doesn’t really sound familiar. Wish it did.

What does this have to do with Texas A&M? They didnt beat anybody and lost to everyone worth bragging about. We lost to FIU so a comparison is moot.
The question was about recruiting, which is all sales. It’s a lot easier to sell to a kid a program that only lost to top 5 competition than it is to sell a program that lost to 2 Go5 teams (along with the dregs of the acc).

This thread asked about TAMU, not a comparison to Miami. So like the post you quoted stated, Miami is irrelevant in this conversation.

Additionally, again, YOU DONT GET TO BRAG ABOUT LOSING TO SOMEONE GOOD. If all your losses are to the top teams in the country, that's not a selling point. A selling point is winning at least one of those games. They had 4 games against top competition and failed every test. Auburn isn't a top 10 team in any ranking, but at least that's something they could've hung their hat on but they lost that game too. Yeah, sure though, they're telling recruits that they are so close to being elite because they handled business against the trash teams but cant beat a top 25 team even though they had 5 chances.

Miami isn’t currently irrelevant in any conversation related to college football.

Is Kellen Mond finally out of eligibility? Dude is unwatchable his pocket movement and lower body mechanics are horrible. Put them in CFB equivalent of QB purgatory.

Any school not named TAMU is irrelevant to the discussion of this topic while we debate on why TAMU is succeeding in recruiting. The OP directly questioned Jimbo's ability to recruit, which is the current argument at hand. I'm only opposing the notion that TAMU had a good season "because all their losses are against quality teams". I strongly disagree that their 2019/2020 season outcome positively affected their ability to attract recruits.

TAMU spends nearly $2million a year on their recruiting budget & they have unlimited resources due to their big money boosters spending endlessly on whatever the team needs, which includes recruits.

Hopefully we can get there one day. I don't ever expect us to get top 5 classes every year but being in that 6-9 range seems manageable

1) Miami is irrelevant in this conversation.

2) Yeah, sure though, they're telling recruits that they are so close to being elite because they handled business against the trash teams but cant beat a top 25

1) Youre right. Miami is irrelevant to the conversation. I didn’t go back in your string.

2) How else will they sell their program in terms of football? They’re not gonna just say “aw shucks, we just aren’t good enough”. theyll frame it as if they’re just a piece or two away, and every elite recruit will be told they’re that piece. Along with whatever else they use to sell themselves .

Again, how else will they sell it besides turn the negative into a positive?
