Miami, of course, promoted Terry Jefferson to its full-time cornerbacks coach this week. That was the last hump Miami had to get over in the Wright recruitment.

“My ideal situation was him getting promoted,” Wright said. “I wanted TJeff to have the job no matter what. I really like his coaching style. I feel like he believes in me.”


 
He's revived the Ai'King Hall recruitment.

New cornerbacks coach Terry Jefferson has been working on King and appears to have helped create some serious traction. We're tracking this one closely.​

Miami is working on another splash in the secondary as 247Sports' Tom Loy noted on Thursday morning.


The Hurricanes have long been fans of Dothan (Ala.) cornerback Ai'King Hall, who gave Oregon a verbal commitment this spring. Miami was in the thick of that recruitment prior to his pledge to the Ducks. There were plans for King to visit Miami in the spring, but after his pledge, those got shut down.


From what I have gathered, Miami has been in the Yellowhammer State to see King in person this spring, and that has created an opportunity for the Hurricanes to make a move. While I...

The visit also gave Pridgeon a chance to spend some time around Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and cornerbacks coach Terry Jefferson.​

“Coach Jefferson is a very genuine man,” Pridgeon said. “He’s also a man of God, which I appreciate. I definitely feel like he’s a real coach. I like Coach Cristobal’s energy. I think he’s building a great culture there. I want to talk to Coach Jefferson about getting back for a game day.”​
