So are we now officially the only team in D1 football who doesn't have one?

we're not even the only team in our own conference without an on campus stadium.

nc state, pitt, usf, ucla, umass, hawaii, and unlv off the top of my head. there's more than that too.

Many here act as if they live on campus. There are so few students that actually go to games, that the importance of an on campus would have zero impact, other than the traffic around Coral Gables. Actually a stadium that far south. would probably hurt attendance from anywhere north od Dade and Broward.

NC state is considered to be on campus.

for all intents and purposes, it isn't though. carter-finley is 3 miles from campus and the plot it sits on is owned by the university. that's the only reason it's considered on campus. that would be like saying tropical park is on campus at um if we had a stadium there.

Their university is very big and covers a lot of land... The school of veteninary medicine is next door to the stadium. But you're right, the admissions building and all that other stuff if about 2 linear miles away.

Absolutely agree here...the student body of Miami is not your target audience...not for this school.

What's the advantage of an on campus stadium with 760 people on campus. Just make it easy to get to and on top of the field.

Lots of Urban universities in big metropolitan areas don't have a stadium on campus. Georgia state uses the Georgia dome in ATL. Don't think UCLA has a stadium on campus. I honestly don't think its a big deal these days but it is a little of a negative factor if a stadium is 25+ minutes away from the campus, that causes problems for official visits, proximity for students to attend games, etc.

North Philly is rough. Would be interested to see how that turns out

We have a lot of development going on in Philly, and we're going to completely take over North Philly sooner than later.

That's retarded. This is how you build a fan base, by getting the student body involved. Otherwise we rely on the fans of Miami who never fill Marlins Park, who never filled Sun Life when they were in the World Series (!), who never filled American Airlines during the regular season with Bosh, Wade, and James. The student body more than any other group should be the main goal.

I think you have been watching too much ESPN the Heat sold out every game when Lebron was here and they still have a consecutive sellout as of today. The Marlins sold out every game in both World Series they played again don't know where you getting your facts. The biggest problem we have is that our student population is mainly kids from the northeast or international studies; we need to get more local kids to go to UM
