Telling Gattis quotes from Feldman article on Michigan

Gattis was the source of toxicity...this article paints it in the other direction that the non-playcallers were the source of it (somewhat corroborates his weird social media posts after leaving Michigan) and needed some come to Jesus meeting led by Poggi to get on the same page.
Gattis has a massive ego...this article paints him as a guy that's not always confident, but is a team player "He’s genuinely there for the betterment of Jim and the program. His heart is all in it."

Maybe the article is lying or Poggi is painting this picture differently now. idk.

It does corroborate that Gattis is probably a tough guy to like. I'm sure the players here ******* hate the guy...but Will Mallory just came out and said the coaches do a good job of keeping it simple...but CIS told me it was all too complicated.

Ultimately, this guy is going to have to fall on the sword and be gone because this is a results business and the results are terrible. It doesn't seem like a fit. But it didn't seem like a fit at Michigan and this article showed that with a little mediation from an adult in the room they were able to win big. It is a shame this season has gone off the rails...I feel the team could likely use a little Poggi mediation well before this point of the season.

The CIS braintrust thought Enos was terrible (he was here), but he seems to be doing just fine at his next stop.

Reminds me of the narratives this fanbase had about Joe Brady...and even when shown articles and quotes from people that know what they are talking about, still did not understand this guys role at LSU. Would respond and say the exact opposite of the article would say.

The article ain’t really that accurate outside of the **** about the friction. now Ive never talked to Josh about it. Nor will I ever. But I’ve talked to other parties involved. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle but everything I know about this situation, this article is way off on a lot of key points

Joe Moorhead is a very good OC but half of the board had no idea who he was until they watched the two Utah - Oregon games last year with Anthony Brown at QB and they yell “bro style caveman bro” to anyone who will listen.

As HC and play caller at Fordham in both 2013 and 2014, his QB threw for nearly 4,000, he had 3 1,000 yard receivers and a 1,000 rusher, incl Chave Edmonds who had over 2k all purpose yards in 2014.

Here are his yards per play rankings as OC at Penn State and Oregon, against Power 5 opponents:
- 2016 (PSU): 6th
- 2017 (PSU): 16th
- 2020 (Oregon): 7th
- 2021 (Oregon): 11th

Those are facts. Sure he had very good personnel at PSU and Oregon so he didn’t do more with less like some of the Air Raid and Veer and Shoot guys the board loves - I get it, but he’s a very good OC.
 
My only question is if Michigan hated Gattis that much, had to be stripped of duties and he was there for 3 years why didn’t they just fire him this past offseason??

think about it if Mario didn’t hire the guy he would still be in Michigan as we speak…

Moorhead with TVD would be a **** of a lot more productive than with Anthony Brown who was truly awful.

Posters as in how many? I’m in no way shape or form giving Mario a pass. He could have called Sabag to get the goods on Gatass for all anyone knows.

It was speculated Mario had other choices. There were names flying around everywhere. We’re you in the room while he was making decisions? I wasn’t so I have no f**king clue what his thought process was.

And therein lies the main issue with people making statements without having direct knowledge of what actually happened.

Don't believe he "won" the Broyles. Pretty sure it was a political move ... he got it so his resume would be more attractive to ensure he got a position elsewhere. Can we give him another one?

Imagine that. It’s the same old bull**** speculation and conjecture that happens on here constantly. No one, and I mean no one, knows WTF goes on behind closed doors unless they’re in the room.

That being said, the proof of what a lousy OC Gatass is now has direct public evidence by what we’ve seen through 9 games of his Miami tenure.

I mean, thats kind of the point I was making.

We have had one narrative of this piece of trash, but now there is an article by a reputable journalist in a reputable publication citing and naming those sources of parties that were definitely involved, and are painted as unbiased and it paints a completely different picture than you present(ed). And two of the responses are "there is a lot of bs" and "the article ain't really accurate"...well, ok. I'm sure there is more nuance and grey area to the discussion, and I'm sure you have some sound sources, but they don't exactly corroborate what was said in this piece outside of Gattis just so happens to be a guy that is likely tough to get along with. Literally every other aspect of that article refutes CIS narratives. Bruce Feldman, of all people, is lying or has been duped? Maybe...it is certainly possible. But this isn't some jabrone writing an article for WolverinesInSight, its one of the best in the business and the response is he got it wrong? The fact checkers over at TheAthletic just let this one slip right though. ok, its possible. Maybe Biff Poggi likes tell people this version of the story because it makes him look better. That is certainly possible, too.
 
I’m not sure if it’s been posted somewhere but earlier this season when we were struggling, I believe it was after MTSU, Josh Pate said on his show that other college coaches were talking down about Gattis. Saying that he ain’t it etc. Not sure if it coincides with the article or what’s been said on here. Idk if it’s personal takes or actuality

Seeing is believing. We can listen to 50 different talking heads and get 50 different points of view. I prefer to see it with own eyes and make a decision based on what my eyes are telling me.

Let's pretend those 1 and 2 were Dorsey and Jason Candle (Toledo HC), it's easy to say why both said no to Miami regardless of Mario.

Realistically, there is an impossibly small chance that Gattis remains on staff. The most likely scenario is that he goes off for a G5 HC job or something along those lines.

The big question is what happens next.
 
Our issues go far beyond Gattis and his complete ineptness. You do not play like this team is w/o extreme dysfunction up and down the staff on both sides of the ball. As bad as our offense has been, our D has sucked just as bad. Shocked that someone with this much experience (and success) would have a team struggling so much on… this is not just about the players.

Mario has not succeeded, he’s failed. No way to sugar coat it. Recruiting is not going to help this. We have talent… at least to beat Duke and MTSU. Instead we got crushed.

Scary times ahead.
