Telling Gattis quotes from Feldman article on Michigan

It definitely does.

Most of the CIS fan fiction narratives are busted in this article.

Harbaugh was heavily involved in the offense, as was Weiss and Moore and that is why it was successful...this article says it was the exact opposite and their involvement led Poggi to believe that is what would lead to the offense failing.
Gattis was not the playcaller...this article says he was.
Gattis was the source of toxicity...this article paints it in the other direction that the non-playcallers were the source of it (somewhat corroborates his weird social media posts after leaving Michigan) and needed some come to Jesus meeting led by Poggi to get on the same page.
Gattis has a massive ego...this article paints him as a guy that's not always confident, but is a team player "He’s genuinely there for the betterment of Jim and the program. His heart is all in it."

Maybe the article is lying or Poggi is painting this picture differently now. idk.

It does corroborate that Gattis is probably a tough guy to like. I'm sure the players here ******* hate the guy...but Will Mallory just came out and said the coaches do a good job of keeping it simple...but CIS told me it was all too complicated.

Ultimately, this guy is going to have to fall on the sword and be gone because this is a results business and the results are terrible. It doesn't seem like a fit. But it didn't seem like a fit at Michigan and this article showed that with a little mediation from an adult in the room they were able to win big. It is a shame this season has gone off the rails...I feel the team could likely use a little Poggi mediation well before this point of the season.

The CIS braintrust thought Enos was terrible (he was here), but he seems to be doing just fine at his next stop.

Reminds me of the narratives this fanbase had about Joe Brady...and even when shown articles and quotes from people that know what they are talking about, still did not understand this guys role at LSU. Would respond and say the exact opposite of the article would say.

The problem is, even if Gattis was to stay another year, Mario is not Jim H, and we dont have a Matt Weiss in place

I am not advocating for that at all.

The results are the results.

Just saying, like usual, CIS creates fan fiction and it becomes the narrative. People will still say the same **** on here, when there is documentation from not "sources" but the actual people involved.
 
The article has bs in it too. He didn’t have complete control over that offense his last year. It’s one of the reasons he got as butthurt as he did. JH went in to 21 on the hot seat and it was all hands on deck with the offense . There’s a reason he brought Weiss in. The offense had been struggling.

Guy sucked at Michigan until a qb coach came in and he sucks here. That’s not fan fiction its statistical fact and observable in play design and execution.

That is not what the article says at all. So, unless you have some sort of article from a source as reputable, its probably more CIS fan fiction.

Perhaps Bruce Feldman and Biff Poggi are lying. Its possible.

Doesnt sound like homework was done. These stories were known by people before Miami hired him and it is the job of Miami to vet and do background to find out these things then make an informed decision.

If Miami did a thorough background, was aware of some of these issues, even any alleged stripping of duties at Michigan, but hired him anyway, then lord help us.

At this point, the more toxic Gattis is the better.

We're not winning a game anyway.

Make it an easy band-aid rip getting rid of this POS.

The players are terrible & he's great, so just give him some great players to match his greatness & the results should be similar to Michigan 2021.

It seems plausible enough & I think if Mario really believes this is the case then he can convince the majority of the fan base to back off & give Gattis another shot.

It's simply a matter of communication; if he puts it out there that this is the plan he can turn the tide & extend some leeway in his favor for year 2.

He doesn't have to change anything realistically speaking after this season, especially considering if he signs a top 5-10 class & brings in some impact Portal players.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing it happen tbh, I don't think Gattis will work here at all, but I'm not an expert & don't know sh*t about Offense as is, so I'm more than willing to be wrong like I usually am.

And I'm not being sarcastic either, if Gattis is really who this article says he is, then he actually deserves at least 1 - 2 more seasons with his own recruits to show how great he really is.

But you and I both know its a results business. The results have been unacceptable for whatever reason. We can blame who we want...the reality is...all parties share the blame.

I don't care one way or another about Gattis. I think he's a good WR coach - his resume is strong in that regard. I personally like the Joe Moorhead offense...its not my favorite, but I like it. Its led to some really good performances and Moorhead was a really good big game prep guy. But, you and I both know that synergy is just as important as ability. If the synergy isn't there and entities involved are unwilling to make it work (they did in Michigan for a year), someone has to go and it won't be Mario. It seems there will be a lot of players that are unwilling to make it work - so they'll be gone and if the staff has some guys that are unwilling to make it work (maybe its just Gattis, idk, this article says he's willing to make it work - again, bucking the CIS lore of an ego driven guy) and they'll be gone, too.

Its also not lost on me that in two stops a playcaller has issues blending with the staff/players. Could be a coincidence, but twice is usually a trend.

Again, maybe Bruce Feldman and Biff Poggi are lying. idk.

I call major bullsh1t on that. ****, there were posters on here that mentioned Gattis' issues at Michigan. Besides, Mario is plenty connected to get that same intel as he was screening him. Don't give Mario a pass on this one - he messed up the hire. His first 2-3 choices said no so he was probably out of options.

The CIS Braintrust hasn't exactly been dead-nuts-on lately. Several years, come to think of it.

I hear praise for generational "gotta-haves," and never see it on the field.

Then we'll have our occasional Berrios, X, and a few others that didn't have all the praise from CIS - but end up shaming the "picks."

And our coaches.

I don't even have the energy . . .

We can speculate all day with stuff like Mario wouldn't let them hire their own staff or run their own system. Or even NFL guys like Dorsey staying in the NFL.

But has anyone actually said why those first few choices fell through?
