Tee Martin

You need both.

Venables was outstanding calling plays in the NC game, it matters

Absolutely. I'm talking strictly offense, though.

But yes, Venables SCHOOLED Locksley and Tua on Monday night.

But there's a reason BV is BV...he's getting 2 million a year to coach defense. You can't expect to hire Brent Venables. Martin would be a very fine choice here.

People could point to 2018 all they won’t but that’s what happens when you lose as much as usc lost in Sam darnold and Ronald Jones. After the posting the #13 offense and #20 offense in the country in 2016 and 2017 usc didn’t have as good as results in 2018 but you know who else had a bad year after losing a generational qb? Bobby petrino when he lost Lamar jackson and I absolutely Think he’s one of the best playcallers in college football. It happens
Solid post Brock

I agree, could do stuff here I think ppl are ****y because it doesn't scream spread like applewhite would

I love this site. The people who are saying NO wouldn't know who Tee Martin was if he walked up to them and started talking.
I liked Tee Martin before the applewhite talk and then I was On board with applewhite being Miami’s potential oc after I did some more research. But tee Martin absolutely could work very well in Miami. Top 5 recruiter in the country and he’s led 2 top 20 offenses in 2 of the 3 years he was Oc since 2016

FWIW

To add to this graphic applewhite was Oc for houston in 2016 and they were#41 in total offensive rank
Applewhite was a Co-OC those first two years. He was only the primary play caller in the last two of those seasons I believe

Stylistic fit in terms of recruiting he would fit much better than applewhite and fedora. We are talking about a top 5 recruiter in the country. Not to mention in 2 of his last 3 years he had 2 top 20 offenses in the country. Quit b*tching

His playcalling wasn't great but bad oline play, Darnold being a turnover machine and a 17 year old HS senior at qb also hurt him. Now I don't believe Brewster for a second **** no he knows yet people close to the program are clueless and totally off base but I can see him being a wr coach here and co-oc/passing coordinator but that is even a stretch

i prefer guys that can produce without generational talent seeing as we haven't had a guy like that on our roster in decades. we need an OC that can do more with less at the QB position.

You DO NOT hire someone who was just fired. Miami OC is basically an upgrade for him. USC just went 5-7 under his watch.

Some of you saying that he hasn't proven himself as a playcaller aren't looking at facts. He had USC at #17 and #10 in total offense both his years at USC before struggling this past season.

So as a USC alum, I love Tee Martin as a position coach. However, I will tell you he is not a good OC. He was so bad that he was stripped of his play calling duties. He is unimaginative and can not game plan. He was routinely out-coached.

Again, I would love him as a position coach, but calling plays is a no for me. He is a premier recruiter.
Sounds wonderful! Fit right in!
