TedHendricksOffSpring.....what you hearin, bro

Am I missing something here? You're asking a guy for "inside" info that originally stated that 7-5 puts Alfred in REAL jeopardy, claims the buyout is $8 mil AND had some of you guys believing that at some point a group of work-study freshmen were tasked with putting together a quick list of potential head coach replacements? Pass the mescaline, please.

wouldn't a simple solution to getting rid of him would be to demote him and make coley our HC. that would make him leave on his own accord.

That prick knows he has Miami by the balls and can do whatever he wants. He's not going to be fired or fire anyone on the staff, we are screwed.

Bring in Butch Davis as a Quality Control Consultant, with responsibility for running practices, recruiting players, and gameday sideline coaching. That would leave Golden free to handle the PR aspects of the job, where he could field questions such as "Why don't you just leave, for God's sake?"

I don't belive recruits give a ***** about APR and graduation rates.

Also, there are tWo sides to buyouts. What UM would pay if they fired him, and what Golden would pay to leave on his own. Those two are not likely to be the same. Plus, UM would probably waive all, or a huge part, to get rid of him if someone else was dumb enough to hire him.

Here I am.

I don't care what the admin is feeding publicly. A lot of them know Al sucks a bag of *** and there's a few reasons he is not fired now and hoping to coach linebackers at Purdue.

1. Money. His buyout is 7-8 million dollars and I have been told it's 8. Let me make it perfectly clear that the school has the money and more to burn. They just don't want to spend it.

2. Board of Trustees. Golden still has key supporters on the Board. Their reason for liking him isn't because of potential football reasons, but for public relations purposes and such of that nature. On top of that, there are plenty of Board members who either don't know what football means to the school or just don't care about football in general. Therefore, anything involving 8 million dollar spending better be massively important for academics. There are quite a few Board members who feel exactly like we all do: That Golden is a Jersey hack that couldn't coach the 2001 Hurricanes to a Big East title. Their vehemence is directly related to his lies/excuses and Penn State-gate has not been forgotten or forgiven. Even his most ardent supporters haven't forgotten about it.

3. APR and Graduation Rates. Golden has some of the best in the business. That is worth some leeway to many because they think that'll be attractive to recruits. That's there stupid mistake.

4. Last Year. The school had record braking season ticket sales. While those statistics were skewed because of the UNC/FSU package deal, it appeared that we had stimulated interest in the football team where attendance and revenue was about to swing up. Golden was given a lot of credit for that. They still are cautiously expectant for similar sales and the potential replication of money that could bring.

5. The Cloud. A lot of decision makers are woefully unaware about the Cloud and how important of a role it played. They think he was pulling in talent while up against almost impossible circumstances. Giving Golden another year could result in a team of talent that can just overwhelm teams ala the early Coker years. Once again, that's their own ignorance.

6. The Fans. A lot of the admin don't think the fans and boosters will exodus out. They think it's a bluff and they're calling it. That's going to be their downfall.

7. General Indifference from the admin, students, and fans. Self-explanatory.

He's not getting fired this year. A bowl loss to anybody and a 6-7 final record doesn't change that. But efforts are being made for him to coach somewhere else.

That's a good portion of what information I've got for you. I'll share more when I can.

@pb5cane: I CAN'T BE SHUT DOWN.

Stay low... keep firing THO!!

For the past 2 seasons I have not seen a sense of purpose/urgency/fire but why change anything - staff, scheme, philosophy or even bother with half-time adjustments when you know you're absolutely bullet-proof? Basura

So far I've read the buyout is 5 million (Lu) and between 7-8 (Ted) from 2 usually good sources.

Either way its clear the BOT don't give a **** about the fans or the boosters.

And I have seen people claim it REALLY is 2-5mm....I don't think ANYONE on a public message board TRULY knows.

AL needs to go to a team where just making it to a bowl game is an accomplishment every season.

With his binders and pillars he would last long at a sun belt or mac school

Bottom Line is the money is there to buy him out if Wanted.

The Board... All 1500 of them ... has no leadership. When that happens it falls on the Pres. UM's pres is leaving and checked out... So... We're screwed....

Unless Brett Senior works magic.. We have another year. I will root for the team I love... but not For The Temple Junction Boys.

This is how I must deal...

So the 8M buyout figure I am assuming that is based on the number of years left on his contract. Am I right? I am trying to wrap my head around this figure. At 5 yrs left and 8M that is 1.6M per year. Who the **** agreed to pay a severance that is 80% of the remaining balance of the money owed. So he really only works for $400k a year as he is guaranteed the other 1.6 whether he is the coach or not. Makes sense. Also, by Bronze sticking around one more only saves the university 1.2M in that scenario. That is the sticking point? This doesn't factor in poor fan support going forward and loss of revenue there. I know to them there is a possibility that he succeeds but these guys are supposed to have a high business acumen. Even not knowing anything about football, they should be able to decipher that what has happened here is not good. Do they believe that only Al can speak well, get kids to go to class, and have high APR scores. **** makes no sense.

If the 8M is a flat fee regardless of the number of years left on the contract, well than the BOT can go **** themselves

If the flat fee exists, the fans and players are paying for their stupidity, sounds like a coverup of a devastingly dumb financial decision.

apr and graduation is important to parent's

Just for comparison sake (cuz who the **** knows what Admin agreed to with Golden) here's what Mack Brown's buyout looked like:

$8M for Golden??

****. When I grow up, I want to be a fired coach.

It doesn't mean **** to blue chip recruits no matter what they say publicly. It only means something to the stuffed shirt BOTtom bytches, who are getting dangerously close to breaching their fiduciary duty to UM, by retaining this slob.

Like an esteemed gentleman mentioned yesterday, none of the BOTtom bytches would continue to employ an obvious incompetent like Folden at their own businesses where they make their money. Yet they're happy to saddle UM with this bum costing the university millions of future dollars because it's not costing them a dime. They are happy to lose millions in future revenue for UM to continue to employ a white face that makes them feel safe that he won't embarrass them at the country club.

Just for comparison sake (cuz who the **** knows what Admin agreed to with Golden) here's what Mack Brown's buyout looked like:

$8M for Golden??

If we buy into the buyout being $8M (which I don't), then that chart shows how egregiously incompetent the people at UM are. This would be especially true in light of the fact that UM had several recent corching failures that they had to pay off.

It should have come as no surprise to these bozos that Folden might have eventually needed to be fired when they gave him that unwarranted extension. It would have been criminal for them to agree to such an onerous buyout.

With a buyout of 8 million, no one is getting Golden from us.

We want him gone so any team that wants him will not pay anything close to 8M to buy him out. We are also not going to pay 8M to rid of him. We are stuck with him unless a miracle happens and someone like Nebraska takes him off our hands.

Here is why we're ****ED

Pittsburgh (6-6,4-4) vs. Miami (6-6,3-5)
Date: Nov 29, 2014 • Site: Miami Gardens, Fla. • Stadium: Sun Life Stadium
Attendance: 61106

As long as they "sell" or "count" that many tickets, we're ****ED.

We should fly an Eichorst Sucks banner. I hope he saddles Nebraska with a worse coach and gets fired for his incompetence.

Well I just freed up about 6 saturdays next fall. Lets see how those season tix numbers look when they retain this coach.
