I had heard they wanted to see him in person before turning up the heat. My assumption is they didn’t see enough at that time.

Excuses now a days with the portal… just like Mario. Vandy and Indiana prove wherever you are if you can coach and bring in the right people you’ll win. I’d throw lashlee in there too but we all know SMU got money
And also let's not act like Lashlee has won on that level…They weren't anywhere near as bad as Vandy and they are in a much weaker conference, and they aren't winning on the level of Indy…Lashlee was gifted a playoff spot last year (it was borderline ridiculous that they got in), and now have 3 losses this season.
No way they’d be better than last year. Lost a lot, especially WRs, and schedule was gonna be a problem no matter who the QB was.
Miami should hire him as a coach on the staff.
