Do tell!
Verified 100% true.
Close person flying on commuter plane.
Very upset, mother very ill, Hendricks sits next to her.
She’s an attractive woman but clearly in no mood to talk, but he’s having such a hard time with his seat she notices. Otherwise she would have spent the hour staring out the window. This was at least ten years ago or more, when there were fewer of the small jets they fly now and more of the prop puddle jumpers with tiny seats, so you can imagine Ted Hendricks in one of those.
Anyway, she notices him, recognizes him, but can’t place name to face but knows he plays football/basketball. He tells her, she mentions her husband is big canes fan (most of our family is) and asks for address.
Not much talk after that. Short flight. Father meets her at airport, TH introduces himself, offers condolences. Leaves quite the impression, Not overbearing and very polite.
Three days later 8x10 high quality autographed print addressed to husband with husband’s name and signed by TH arrives at his home. I’ve seen it.
Unbelievable.
There was absolutely nothing in it for him other than doing a kindness for someone else.
I really don’t know that much about Ted Hendrick’s personally, but that tells me a lot right there.
