Te'Cory Couch

Nah, Ivey was bad... Very very bad.

He got beat on a ton plays where if the QB just made a good throw would've been a TD.

He's slow & has bad feet, no recovery speed at all, he was a huge liability in coverage.
Thank you! I feel the same. Blades trailed the receivers too many times and not good at playing the ball (int or knock away). Couch was the best CB at the true abilities a top CB should have.

I still have flashbacks of the fake punt where Ivey let the gunner go right past him. I still don’t understand what happened. After all, we kept our defense on the field to guard against the fake punt.

I think he was reciting poetry in his head after blades inspired him

will any of our corners ever learn to turn back and look for the ball when its in the air?
1st..you don’t turn around while in phase with a WR to look for the ball..or most times u end up looking like that Louisville DB lol...hips parallel to the wrs hips..stay attached..play the ball as the WR plays the ball. Especially on the deep ball. You don’t want to lose track of the WR..now I’ve always heard DB coaches say play the WRS eyes

Blades was our best CB last year, and our best cover corner since Corn Elder. Not sure why the CIS hype train isn't on him, he had a great year.
I said it a few months ago that he was our best Cb and that every time i saw a receiver on 3rd down catch a ball Ivey was on the ground or no where near the dude

yeah was not a good year for him. idk why blades didn't start over him . i believe we talked about that a few months a as well.

I think couch is Good we don't really know how good bc Ivey has wasted everyone's time. The bad games he's had yes more than one has been against less talent. Idk if he doesn't get the system Blake is running or maybe he just doesn't prepare and have the drive that he should. Maybe Williams and couch can show him how its supposed to be done while he sits on the bench.

Bandy quite a few times too. I thought Bandy regressed last year and was shocked that he thinks he's good enough to declare for the NFL draft. I'll be shocked if he gets drafted at all.

Couch is the best cover corner on the team. He just needs to live in the weight room this spring and he'll play major minutes next season.
He is a the best man v man CB..can be a pest in the slot..on the outside with our scheme he needs to get stronger and more physical out there..the way we play we want/need length outside

Al blades is fine at one of the cb spots. Feel pretty comfortable in saying couch will be the nickel corner. I want Christian Williams to push or possibly take the other cb job from ivey(who looked bad in some games for sure but had a few good games last year as well)
What was your take on how Al played in the bowl game? I was left with a little doubt....

He got beat at times in that game and vs fiu, but still doesn’t erase what he did in the season as a whole. He plays cb so of course they will get beat at times

I agree but I’ve seen to many times when our guys were in position and if only they turned around it was an easy pick

I just feel to take that next step our guys need to do a better job of tracking the ball

Yeah, didn't play well either at times, but i think that has to do more with him being CB 1 and not being able to handle it yet. which is why he needed to stay. but he can play nickle in the NFL and possibly CB2 with some work, but from what others have said his family needs money. he needs a real good pro day and combine to get above the 6th round and thats being generous.
