Team Portal Updates

I did, but as a hypothetical.

But after listening to a podcast where Citizen might be one and done, where the other running backs might all leave, is it completely outside of the bounds of reality that TVD transfers, Garcia goes back to the West Coast, Emory decommits, and some School poaches Brown with a sweet NIL deal? That’s a nightmare scenario, with each action independent of the others but the net is a disaster. A nightmare scenario in response to an entire season has been a nightmare scenario.

All right....the sky has fallen.

All these players that are hitting the portal looking for an even more cushier place to play and get paid, were never hurricanes to begin with. They had no loyalty to the brand only self interest and their pockets. Those that stay and fight for their jobs are 5he future of the program and “Hurricanes”

So by your argument Mario should have came to Miami for way less than $8M per year, you know seeing as how he is a Miami alum. I mean he could have came for the same amount that he was being paid at Oregon if he really had loyalty to Miami and the brand.

Don't forget that Oregon was ready to bump his salary big time as there were several other schools that had Mario on their list.

3. Tyler Van Dyke, Miami

The skinny: Went from 1 of the top 5 returning quarterbacks in 2022, and an NIL deal with a $90,000 car, to getting benched and falling out of favor with the new Miami staff. Now what?

He’s not leaving for the NFL because his stock has slipped and because it’s a deep quarterback draft. He has 2 options: Work it out with the Miami staff (doubtful) or transfer (probable).

Benched huh? Journalism is dead.

He did get benched at least once this season for non - injury related reasons. I recall MTSU specifically, he got benched for most of the second half. I think it is unusual for a starting college QB (especially one who was considered one of the top returning starters in cfb) to get pulled from a game. Article should have clarified though to say "benched during games" so that readers wouldn't misinterpret it as being permanently benched.

Considering the NFL looks at potential Tyler could still enter the draft if his shoulder is proven solid and he can ball out at combines and such.... Not saying he will leave , believe me I think he could use another year to re-prove himself fully healthy.... But... Let's say a team takes a chance on him in round 3-4 and sits him for 1-2 seasons letting him learn and get his body NFL ready... I mean that's not really a bad scenario for him as opposed to coming back and getting killed again behind a bad O-line....
