I expect and hope for big things for Jaquan Johnson. This is his year to define his legacy. Actually alot of the players. It shouldnt be hard for jaqaun to make a bigger impact from the previous safties.

He must put this team on his back and do his thing. No reason for him not be mentioned along with the greats after this year. If he plays like a CANE should then will can go win this Natty. He has the heart and the passion now he needs to finish the job and lead this team and it all starts with Beating FSU.

I hope we can have the same captains for the whole season Defense : Jaqaun , Chad , Pickney/Shaq

Offense : Mark , Ahmon , Perry

IMO jaquan is overrated by this fanbase. Cane great? Don't think so. I think he can be a solid player bit he is no game changer

Thinking about some other things that are more important than team captains...North Korea comes to mind..

I agree, Think he can change that this year though

A player can get better, but greatness doesn't just appear one season. If he were one of the greats we'd have seen it already. That said, there's a huge potential for him to have a really good year, and I'm excited to see what he does.

Hard to overrate him when he hasn't had the chance to play one position. Last year he played CB, S and LB. He'll be a S full time moving forward so let's judge him moving forward. I do like his leadership and he gets a ton of respect from all of his teammates including the guys who just graduated. I think he'll get to 1st or 2nd All ACC before he leaves.

So Rayshawn Jenkins is going to be somewhere around a mid-4th round pick because of how well he tested and you expect Jaquan Johnson to be better than somebody who's being perceived as a 4th round pick? Even though he has only played in spurts?

Solid logic there sir.

I expect big things from him this season; It's his defense and his secondary.. Him and Redwine are gonna be nice back there. Can't wait!

Jaquan is good player a will play a good and important role this year but he isn't a cane great... he's been a special teamer and second string safety. I feel like the term "cane great" is used too often. A cane great is ed reed, Sean T, and many more but you can't just throw that term around on players.

He's been playing Nickel which isn't his natural position. That kids instincts were crazy when he was at Killian. They just wanted him on the field. Now he will be back to his natural position. My only worry is his speed. But he makes up for it with anticipation

He still has two years of eligibility in which he will be the leader of our secondary. A lot of "Cane Greats" didn't become known as great until there junior/senior years. Position depth was a reason for some and individual development was a reason for others. Nevertheless, Jaquon's potential story of being a "Cane Great" is yet to be written. It starts this year. Kid is going to be a beast for the next two years.

Hate to burst your bubble, but going into his junior year Ed Reed was far from the player he became. There was a lot of negativity thrown his way in 1999. Way more than JJ has gotten.
