TE Gavin Mueller now the #56 overall player on Rivals/on3

My bad, brain fart. Was confusing him with the other kid we got that went to Indiana. So this is his 3rd year ever playing football. I’ll edit my post, and I guess I’m officially less intrigued now for this season. Kinda hard to make an impact as a true freshman when you’re new to the game. Was thinking he was learning last year.

It’s easier for TEs and Receivers than any other position. **** Jimmy Graham played half a season here a became a possible Gold jacket guy in the league pretty quickly. I know he played some football as a middle schooler or something like that, but he hadn’t played since. Other guys have translated pretty quickly. He just needs to learn the blocking game

WR yes, TE not really..You dont see too many true freshman TE contribute because of the trench element that is usually asked of the position also.. That takes some time..

And Jimmy Graham wasn’t being asked to do the type of in line blocking that Mario expects of his TEs. Can’t remember if they even put him in motion.

Graham was also 22 years old, or close to it.

Learning the game and not quite being strong enough physically is probably harder than learning it while being 22 years old and more physically mature than the kids you’re playing against.

Regardless though, that’s a massive kid with some serious potential at that size, speed, and athleticism. Will be really interesting to see him develop.
 
Can we stop with the Jimmy Graham stuff? I know he had a great pro career but the dude caught 17 passes in a Miami uniform and was most well known for dropping a game winner against Virginia Tech.
