Tate Martell is the ideal QB2

Crazy AF boy, Justin Fields can make every throw on that field.

I didn't mention Fields arm talent because it's irrelevant. He's not a pocket passer. The system/style of offense that Day/Wilson want to run works best with a pocket passer at QB. It's not Urban's run heavy offense with option concepts which is well suited for QBs like Josh Harris, Braxton Miller, JT Barrett and Justin Fields. It's more for a guy like Sam Bradford or Dwayne Haskins.

At the end of the day, it is about getting the ball to the receiver. Doesn't matter if you are standing on your head or doing one arm push-ups

Tate was brought in because Enos and Diaz wanted him here. Nothing more, nothing less. All this talk about why he left OSU is completely irrelevant. He is a Cane now and that's all that matters.

All of this crazy talk about Day not recruiting him and that's why he was escorted out the door, is even crazier talk. Any coach in their right mind would want depth on their roster, especially a QB who has experience at that current university, even if that experience is not in the new offensive system. Based upon that logic, why didn't Enos and Manny ask N'Kosi and William's to leave, considering the fact that they recruited Tate and Tate is "their guy" and coaches only want to win with "their guy." If that's the case, the same way Day supposedly walked Tate out the door (I dont buy that logic), Enos should have showed Perry/William's the door as well.

Coaches want to win, because that is what they are f'ucking paid to do. That is what is expected of them. They don't give a s'hit if the player is their own recruit or if the player is a former WR converted to QB. Whoever helps them keep there **** job is the person who is going to play!

In hs. Tim tebow set records passing in hs. Mike smith had 20 sacks in hs. Joe yearby was the first underclassmen in dade county history to run for 2k.
Dude you just named an elite COLLEGE QB that was a 2x National champion and Heisman winner. That's exactly the type of production we need for college. Oh and his head coach is the same one that recruited Tate. I know he's a **** but the point still stands.

And a guy who wasn't a good passer. Enos doesn't run a power spread.

How do you know what he'll run? He already said he runs a "spread coast" and that he'll tailor the offense to the best QB. That's perfect for Tate. He's best at short, quick throws and on the run.

It's a pro-style offense with spread elements. Even nfl teams use spread elements in their offenses. All the qbs were spread guys in hs and richt primarily had the qbs in the gun the last 2 years. So why didn't enos start molding the offense to make them more comfortable from the beginning?

I believe he's trying out different things for each QB. From what I mentioned he said before, coupled with him not being familiar with either and us seeing so many multiple concepts. It makes sense to find the most/best skills of each QB during his first spring and early fall, then start dialing in specific styles/schemes to fit that QB.

i think the issue is that there are a few posters on here that turned it into a boy band rage, which made others (including myself) point out the warts that each QB has.

To a certain extent, that is what is happening here. These fanboys get a lot of pushback because of an almost blind dedication to one player. I realize it’s their opinion and they are entitled to it, but it also sometimes seems to rise to the level of teenage fandom.

I’m 100% behind whoever Enos and Manny pick as the starter, and hopefully the fanboys, if they don’t get their choice, whoever that might be, don’t engage in an unending season of bltching.

This is a bit random, but how in the **** does he have 150k twitter followers and over 200k Instagram followers?? That QB1 show made him that popular out of high school?

he was always a social media ***** before the show and then the show got him a ton of followers obviously. him and sister love the spotlight.

If he backs it up on the field it's great for us. Manny has really embraced the social media world. You'd be surprised how many kids can be won over with the flashy videos and its a great way to showcase that miami swag.

Gearing up for camp. Let's go gentlemen!!
