Tate Martell is the ideal QB2

I saw in the Orlando Spring game that Tate has a problem seeing the middle of the field, so deep post, seam, deep outs and crossing routes have lower percentages with Tate.

Maybe they can put in a package or two for N'Kosi. Nothing to disrupt Tate (if he's the starter) but just a couple of series a game to make everybody that was rooting for N'Kosi happy. And it would also show the defense that our guy who didn't win the starting job can throw it around better than the guy that did win the starting job. And it would also let the starter know that while you might have won the job, you're on an awfully short leash.

The one thing I've heard Manny repeat time and again - he's tired of everyone talking about talent - talent doesn't get anything done - only hard work and effort.

I am not there - but I haven't heard of many putting forth more extra work than Tate, Osborn, and a few others.

Manny wants a COACH on the field at QB, not a talent at throwing, or a talent with the strongest arm.

Manny may be BS'ting us - but if he's serious - I think we all know who the QB will be.

Exactly.

All I know is if we trot N’Kosi Perry out there again, we ain’t winning more than 7 games next year. The kid is trash.

If Tate and Jarren can’t beat him out, that’s on them. Just shows that the program as a whole is in sad shape.

7 wins, max.

What's trash is some ***aloon on a message board saying any member of this team is trash. That's some straight up ***** made porsting.

As for 7 wins max, we do that with any QB, we hired the wrong guy to lead this team. There would've been no reason to not just keep Richt or the three before him.

Think before you post or better yet, just read the boards.

The difference between us is I actually watched the team play last season and I have a memory longer than a goldfish.

It’s like some of y’all weren’t even here last year, or you’ve just totally forgotten.

You all knew **** well Perry was trash last year when you watched him play. That doesn’t change just over a summer.

If you can't give a guy with that much god given talent a chance with a real HC , OC, QB coach ect I don't know what to tell you . Players grow , learn and most of all get coached up . It is one thing to say that Rosier by mid last season wasn't getting better as he was a finished product . Perry ain't no where near finished product. With all that being said IMO the depth chart will be 1. Tate 2. Perry 3. Williams .

There is a reason everyone says it is 2 man race and Williams is the odd man out.

Oh and Tate has 3 more years to play not 2.

Tate will be the starter against uf. What Tate can do with his legs and letting Enos build an offense geared around Tate will give us the best chance to win if the oline play is questionable.
You do realize that Tate was asked to leave OSU right?

gunna be tough to be QB 2 when he's the starter and perry is QB 2... if you listen to the interviews about the QB competition basically tells you it's going to be Tate (gets praised by manny) Perry (gets called immature by manny) Williams (gets called inconsistent by manny).

Y’all getting trolled. Dude is obviously just trying to rule up the masses, and you guys are eating it up. Good stuff.

LOL. perry won most improved from the spring but okay. none of it means anything other than which of the 3 will separate themselves in the next 3 weeks. no one should have won the job based on their spring performances (esp tate considering he was the worst of the three). now, all 3 should have a fair shot of winning the job in the next month and hopefully that QB is the one who actually beats the others and not just by default (rosier over perry was predetermined last year)

Mork's offense was trash! That was Perry's first year of playing time, but at least he played! The two kids you're rooting for over Perry ain't played jack, and Tate was asked to leave OSU!

Enos is under a lot of pressure and had his work cut out for him this summer.

I think in spring he just installed his offense and put the qbs in many different situations to get a bead on their skill sets under pressure.

The thing that intrigued me above all else is how he sets up the practices starting Friday.

I know he is going to gameplan for the starters’s strengths, but is he going to make different calls for them in practice to see who the guy really is?

If he sticks to predominantly calling plays under center, I don’t see how Martell can take the job. But if he gives Martell customized play calls in the competition, he has to do the same for Perry and Williams.

He doesn’t have much time to figure it out. This is the main reason I think both Perry and Martell will get snaps.

They have totally different skill sets and haven’t ran away with the job from the other. They can help the team in completely different ways and this maybe a situation that warrants consideration of a 2 qb gameplan.

I think Williams being behind in experience is hurting him with poise and decision making and I think he is too far behind to start. Dsdd’s comments didn’t give me much confidence that he would surprise me in fall camp.

Still, it’s too early to count anybody out our hand the the job to anyone, either.

My memory is fine. Additionally, what your porsts keep telling me is that I've got more knowledge of the game in my pinkie finger than you do in your entire being. Said it since last year, you could've stuck Ton Brady in our offense last year and he would've made a negligible difference.

What I saw from Perry is that he could make some throws that we haven't seen here in a very long time. He was often times put into very bad positions and wasn't helped out by his unit or the staff in particular. Same was true of Rosier, but Rosier doesn't have the passing ability of Perry.

How good can Perry be? We'll find out as I would be very surprised if he didn't win the job. He can make every throw, but that's just the beginning of what he needs to do. Anyone who thinks Rosier or him aren't better than what they showed last year doesn't have a clue about football. See Brady comment above and I'm not going to get into X's and O's, but our offense was abysmal.

Now buttercup, get some class and leave off calling any player trash. Dude, you're a joke calling any of our players **** like that.

Saying he's trash is out of pocket. Have u started QB for a P5 program?
