I think the biggest problem this coaching staff has is that they do not understand the culture of this program and the South Florida kids we need to get to where we want to be. Understanding this, plus the lack of commitment financially from our administration, I think the perfect candidate is Lane Kiffin. Now please understand, I'm not saying he's the best coach but he would be the best of what I think we can actually get.

He can recruit
He has that edge to him that would play well in South Florida
He's been a head coach

The biggest negative obviously is his lack of success. I think that a year at Alabama with Saban has to have helped and that with his past failures he might be a little more subdued in his approach. We would kill it in recruiting South Florida and this team would have some swagger back. We need the passion and fire that made this program back and he could bring it.

Kiffin sucks.

You know who understands the culture of this program and South Florida, can recruit, and has an edge to him?

And he'd come relatively cheap. Makes too much sense.

Lane wouldn't be my first choice but if he took over and brought a Saban tree DC, I could live with it.

You have to be kidding me. He only looks good now because he is with Saban, not because he has gotten better. He is fine as a play caller, but he can't run a program. It would be a disaster. Plus, if our fans got on him, he would leave in a heartbeat.

I agree with some of the negatives you guys are saying. At the end of the day I'm trying to find a reasonable candidate that we may go after. You guys keep saying Butch, but there is no chance he gets this job again so don't be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

At the end of the day, does anyone have confidence that they will hire a quality coach if they do indeed fire Golden? I know I don't. They have the track record that shows they will go for the cheap, easy hire. I have no faith in our athletic department to do the right thing.

Todd Graham, Rich Rod, Mike Gundy... Anyone who's accomplished anything as a coach

If you think we're a joke now, go ahead and hire Kiffin, we'd be the ultimate laughing stock of the sports world.

Recruit? Yes

Edge? Yes

But you'd have the same stupid blunders on the sideline as we see with the current HC.

He's a powerhouse recruiter and excels at player development. And Butch would run a defense that's actually conducive to South Florida recruits instead of this 3-4, two gap bullshyte defense.

Butch would bring enough talent that Miami would return to the top 10. It would a mere matter of time.

You're full of siht.

You'll hear it yourself. December 13, from players mouths of the greatest team ever assembled - Butch had the 2001 team so well coached, they were on autopilot.

OP completely fails to mention that this hypothetical coach can actually coach and develop talent.....in that case, why not just keep Al?

I can't think of a coach working today as bad as Al. Muschamp used to be in the running but he gone. Maybe Hoke but he will be done this weekend.

Name one other coach who has under performed at the same rate as Albert?

It's tough.

Given his failures, I'd take anyone else at this point.

Look, being totally honest, I sent Butch a personal email when he went to Cleve on us. I said really bad things about him and [correctly] predicted he would fail. That was emotion speaking becasue he lied and left us. But, if I were AD I would sign him today. He ran a clean program [one little known fact is that he gave extra effort to recruit FCA guys and team captians], had a great eye for undervalued players, and could recruit. We must admit that he was a weak gameday X and O guy but he did learn to delegate while in the NFL and at UNC. Yes, he would come cheap too. Five years of Butch having him groom our next HC would work for me.

I think Kiffin would be a great hire. He received alot at a young age and did what most young people do, make mistakes. His talent is obvious by the fact that he keeps receiving great opportunities after experiencing highly publicized failures. He's a fiery young coach that learned from some of the best coaches. He's a great recruiter and would clean up in south florida. He also believes in hiring all star staffs. Most people will Neg but I don't give a ****, Kiffin's my first choice. Dude would beast at Miami.

Three ban worth elements to this porst:

- implying Miami is poor
- implying that being "cool" and "a great recruiter" is what built Miami
- implying that lack of actual coaching success is irrelevant

OP, pleeeeease never post again.
