Talk lately has me a little nervous about 2020 football season. Thoughts?

Do you think we will play football in 2020?

I dont think we have fall CFB this year, Emmert says they aren't playing if there are no fans/students are still out.

Looking bleak

It can be done.

All players/coaches, etc get tested a week before camp - and a week after start of camp. And every week during season.
Stadiums are 1/3 full. Staggered seating by 2s. Row one, seats 1,2 - Row two seats 5,6 - Row one, seats 9,10 - Row 2, seats 13,14 etc.
No tailgating.
No concessions. Bottled water is given away at stadium stairwells. Priced in to ticket price.
Masks worn by coaches, staff and ref during game.
Masks worn by fans in all areas of stadium except at seat.

Let's presume you're right. But let's say that there are second and third waves that prevent mass gatherings until 2022. What state would college sports be in at that point? For the schools that decide to continue their programs...everyone is going to be like SMU in 1989 and rebuilding almost from scratch.

I'm aware, but some states have said no public events in 2020 and Emmert has basically said no fans/students in school = no games. Not sure what to tell you, but it looks bleak for a 2020 CFB season.

Not disagreeing. Just considering California, where they are speculating that mass gatherings would not be allowed until 2021. Now of course there is a difference for CFB if that resumption date is Jan 2021 versus Dec 2021. If it is close to the latter, you might end up with the cancellation of CFB for both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

I'm hearing more and more buzz that there may be Spring 2021 NCAA football. The thing about this is any "plans" to start back up are all best case scenarios. If any area has a huge flareup in cases again it's all over. So to have Fall football everything has to go perfect and even then it's not a certainty.

Your scenario is possible as well but that would be devastating, hoping that does not happen

Wonder if the universities can take a hit. Might change the whole if they're no students on campus theory....
At least Harvard's gonna be okay. If they burn through the $9 million they're getting in relief courtesy of the taxpayers, they still have their $40 billion endowment to get through the year.

I saw that. Ain't that some ****....
Universities aren't about education anymore. Just indoctrination and money.

Well, if they just sail the Comfort to every stadium, people will feel better, because you know they didn't see actual patients who needed 40,000 vents or everyone will l DIE!!!!!!!!!!

Cuomo says NY no longer needs USNS Comfort in coronavirus crisis

These hystericals and chicken littles may go down in annals of emotional ideas as taking part in the single most calamitous public policy debate and response in US history.

but...but...but.....Italy!!! but...but...but....DEATH RATE!!!

but..but..but....do you have a functioning and reasoned capable brain?
