Talent

We are probably closer to 35-45 range of talent but worst coaching staff bar none.

Golden has done a poor job getting the necessary talent for the defense that he wants to run.

Huh? We had 20-30 future pros on the team last year and this year. That equates to 35-45 talent? Jeezus.

Potato.

Our talent is awful in the trenches and that is where games are won and lost. Our DT tackle personnel have been awful for 5 years. Our offensive line right now is as bad as it gets talent wise. Golden has done an awful job of evaluating talent - this roster is littered with guys who should be playing at a Division III college. Our depth is terrible.

I actually think our Dline is pretty good.

People are going to be surprised at the results if the new HC puts them in a one gap system next year.

WOrst OL in the hx of the school and the DL and LB not far behind. Last year's NFL bound players have nothing to do with this team. Golden has continually whiffed on difference makers, esp at those positions.

...when your stud defensive ends are covering slot receivers you WILL NEVER stop anyone. Move them into a 4-3 with no party cake and we cut their yards in half.

Miami avg. recruiting class rank 2012-2014: 11 overall

Clemson avg. rank '12-'14: 11.6

Bye.

pros that barely make impact on sundays r not good enough to play at um, i memba butch would get guys to the league an they were immediate pro bowlers. this is def not that kind of talent period, there isnt no nfl streak cuz we sendin jags to the league with occasional studs

From 2012-2014, Rivals.com rated UM’s classes 9th, 20th, and 12th, and Clemson’s classes 14th, 14th and 13th.

AQM, Chad, McCord, Harris, Moten, Norton, Jenkins, and Hertelou are a good group of d-lineman IF put in a 4-2-5 or 4-3.

20-30 future pros. Who`s the Potato?

He had 20-30 future pros on last year's team. 10 went to the nfl and that's not even including the current crop of kids. He got 6 wins.

This year's team? Look at the friggin roster. The roster (especially on defense) is filled with future pros.

Except for the O-line, UM's starters are as talented as most teams. Depth is a major problem on both sides of the line. The O-line is no minor issue, so let's just look at the defense. The defense should show weakness as the game wears on and the backups enter the game. Early in the game, however, UM has plenty of starters who were 3-4 star recruits (off the top of my head, Chad T., Quan, Motin, Grace, Bush, Howard). With these talented starters on defense, there is no excuse for FAU, Cincinnati, FSU, and Clemson to score so many points early in the game. The only excuse is poor coaching and poor game planning. Even the ABC announcers said it today when they commented that UM's DBs were playing in a zone too far back to deny Clemson easy first downs with short passes and runs. I believe that the announcers called Dorito out by name.

The talent is an issue in terms of depth. But, isn't that also a question of coaching? Priority #1 for any coach in Miami is to erect a fence from Tampa to Palm Beach. South Florida should be Cane territory. Yet, a number of starters on Clemson were from South Florida (Tampa south). That is a coaching failure.

Could it be that we are just not as talented as we think?
No this **** again. Do u mean like last year. You think we are 58-0 talented. What about FSU, we played them tough. The kids are fed up with Golden. Be real

lmao gtfoh thats the same thing everybody said last year when we had all them draft picks. stop making excuses for the guy, its the fkin coach point blank idk why people feel the need to find other things/people to blame. its obvious as fk that our coach sucks his scheme sucks and the mfker is clueless. he shouldnt be coaching college football, i wouldnt even want him coaching my high school team. We know the problem already, stop trying to find something else to blame.

Miami has recruited better than every team in the ACC except for FSU (basically tied with Clemson) based on star rankings over the past 4 years. Miami has more talent, by star ratings, than every team it plays this year other than FSU and again a virtual tie with Clemson. Even with the talent gap with FSU, Miami had them on the ropes the past two years until the coaching failed.

Coaching is Miami's problem, not talent.

Cant look at recruiting classes - have to look at who made it Miami and who didnt get kicked off the team

Clearly Clemson looked faster at every position AND you saw what happened when Brad went out

Good coach - recruit South Florida - win the coastal - beat a top 10 team - win the ACC - get to the final four
