5. Baylor -- 6

Some may wonder if other major programs with excellent tradition and home recruiting bases are where the Hurricanes are in terms of overall talent. Again, these numbers indicate they're not. Here are some examples:

Texas -- 6
Florida -- 3
LSU -- 4
USC -- 7
Auburn -- 8
Oklahoma -- 8

Lets dig a bit deeper and look at where all other ACC schools rank.

FSU 12, Louisville 9, Clemson 4, Syracuse 3, Duke 2, Virginia Tech 2, Boston College 1, Georgia Tech 1, Virginia 1, North Carolina 1, North Carolina State 1, Wake Forest 1, and Pittsburgh 1.

Miami's non-conference opponents have low numbers as well -- Nebraska 3, Cincinnati 1, Florida A&M 0, and Arkansas State 0.

There are eight programs who have at least seven players on the list. They're listed below along with their current records against FBS opponents this season.

USC 7-4
8: Oklahoma 8-3

Good stuff Dan E. I get sick and tired of people believing Golden's crap. This team is dripping w/ NFL talent yet we're getting smoked by a bunch of teams who have a player or two w/ NFL talent on the roster. Our problem is coaching Bet money if we faced North Dakota State right now, we would get smoked. We are not a very good coached team. We crap the bed in situational football and that's where x's and o's come out. It matters not if we receive the opening kick off for the 2nd half; the last two weeks we've done nothing w/ it. When it's time to adjust or to pull out the dagger, we crap. How often have we scored first just to crap the rest of the way. We have the talent on the field, we just don't have the talent off the field, unfortunately.

Good post.

Miami can **** out of a window in Mahoney and hit a future NFL Pro Bowl level player still in high school. You have to go back to the mid-50's to get an era where Miami's top guys weren't on par with the top talents around the country. It should be even easier to build depth to a program with all of the talent down here considering this area has more contributors to programs around the country than anywhere else, an incredible number of them early. You need to be truly unqualified or a special brand negligent to **** it up.
